I agree. It would make a nice pro-touring truck. I hooked a old co-worker/buddy up with it. He's been bugging me about it since he left the shop. I don't remember the year of the STI. I posted a pick of it here a while back. It has the tall oem wing on the back and the big round headlights. I think people call'em "bug eye" or something like that. It's a good looking car.

Yup, Bugeye is the nickname for those, also called "GD" after the chassis code. Should be a 2000-2002 unless it got front end swapped or something funky is going on, the Wing is part of the STI package, IIRC it has larger 4 pot brakes that are part of that as well, but Subaru had about 6000 options available for the STI cars, so you'd have to really look at it to know what it has.

I'm a musclecar guy so i didn't pay much attention to it. But it does have big gold Brembo brakes on it. I have to admit it's a quick lil car.

They are fun machines, they have their quirks, like the head gaskets are a 100k mile regular maintence item, and the oil pickups are prone to cracking if you hoon the car regularly, but it's 100% worth it, they have huge aftermarket support so almost every problem you will have is documented in 6 different places, and there's parts available for the OEM ones that aren't up to spec.

Sounds like it's an 04-05 if it has the big headlights. They call those blob eyes. USA didn't get the real STI until this generation. Aside from the brakes you can tell from a combo of the 2.5L engine, various interior bits, and the wheels/bolt pattern. Definitely a quick car, even by today's standards. I think the current generation STI only has like 5 more bhp

This has been sitting for over a year now also. A guy brought it in for brakes and never came back. Only has 86k miles. Tires are flat now.
