Nope. We have beat this horse long enough there is a tiny marginal difference between 4.56 and 4.88. It's fine. if you really want low gears for actual crawling get 5.29s. if you are running down the highway and driving alot of highway miles 4.56 or 4.88. doesn't matter. and that's all i'm going to ever say about gear ratios again.

Only really hard part about the front if the fucking vent lines, I had the thing bolted in and couldnt get my fingers and hand in to reattach the vent lines. I had to partially ubolt it to let it down and reattach the lines and the rebolt everything. If I were you guys I would do the same to avoid the frustration, this guy had the same issue but smaller hands than me.

Also don't install is without the stub shaft like some have done.

Also I had the gear oil coming out of the vent issue like many others. I ended up letting some of it out and set the level a little less than what the FSM recommends and it stopped.

Also I would add loctite to the mounting bolts for the front, you don't want to end up like chandlerdoom and jberry

i vouch cut the damn wire! you'll be aired down most of time your in the runner anyways....and if you get flat while on the road im pretty sure you'll know.

Now I need new leaf springs for sure, lost nearly an inch just putting this thing on there lol. The 3 leaf AALs ain't gonna cut it anymore

 

Exactly why I wanted a low profile one, wanted to keep the tent under or flush with the cab. Also I just think it looks much cleaner that way.

 

And another overland was born today

 

Hopefully I can grab some new OME leafs before Mojave in a couple weeks, or this tent with all the weight of the other stuff is going make me look like I've got serious bro lean.

 

What if I keep it in the box though?

I wanted to do bed bar / low pro rack and RTT but second kid made it so I NEED the shell and that was the end of that.
If/when I get an RTT just gonna have to deal with the higher center of gravity.
