I think Doughty and Karlsson are incredible defenseman. I can't really remember many of those old farts, I was so little when they played and really wasn't paying attention

When Robinson was in his prime i have no memories of. I remember the Bourque, McInnis, Stevens era. I thought Coffee to be the most dynamic of that era.

 

Yeah, I missed a few on the Honourable Mentions list. Coffey could arguably be in the top five but he didn't have to play defence on those oiler teams. Don't get me wrong, he could play defence, he just didn't have to. He started one of my all time favourite plays with a great back check at the '87 Canada Cup in OT vs the USSR. Bossy score btw.

 

I looked at the SI list and I can't comment on guys like Harvey, Horton, Pilote etc. cuz I ain't that old. I guess they copied my list.

Nowadays Karlson, Doughty, Keith are among my favourite to watch.

Race to last place again. Don't worry though, the Sabres can't win anything, lottery included.

 

I am not gonna lie, I am a little bitter. Team finished dead last two years in a row and the fans who suffer through it are rewarded with a lottery loss both years. The new lottery system is even worse. Oh well

Well that was my point. Didn't the Sabres finish last and not get the first pick, the year of McDavid? I'm too lazy to google but just going off of memory.

 

The avs finished with 48 points last season and ended up with the 4th pick... they got screwed!
