Too funny, but glad you're okay. My wife had a pulmonary embolism, she thought it was just chest pain and was trying to ignore the pain. Finally, gets so bad we go to the e.r. and doctor casually tells us she has several clots in her lungs and she could have died if one lodged in her heart. Then comes the damn blood thinners and you have to worry about bleeding out. Scary stuff!

Yeah. Just a frikken nose bleed can turn into a real problem. Makes one think twice about a Lone Ranger hunting or fishing trip...

After three stress related heart attacks in 4 years and two strokes (most recently January 9), they have me so full of blood thinners mine wouldn't clot if you needed it to...

Oh wow....that really sucks. Glad you made it to the ER.

My wife's Corolla is much less comfortable than the Tacoma, so it must really be designed to care about us.

Glad you’re around to tell the story but I have a question: if you can’t sit for 6 six hours without clotting up, why doesn’t it happen when you sleep for 6 or 8 hours?

my poor gas mileage means the truck isnt going more than a few hours on the road without stopping anyways. frustrating trying traverse through states
my offroad seats are damn comfy as well :notsure:

ive literally spent 24hrs straight in them, plus plenty of 8-15 hour trips (negating gas stops)

100% agree. I can't go 2 hours in this truck w/out hurting. I drove my FZJ80 from Texas to Yellowstone (26hr drive) w/out any back pain.

I got in on the Wet Okele seat cover group buy and ordered the lumbar support option. Best $40 ever spent, of coarse the covers they went under were a little more pricey.

That’s a good thing about the tundra. Yes it’s so damn comfy it’s like a king sofa driving down highway, but I have to stop every 2 miles for gas, so I get plenty of stretching in :D

I'm thinking the heart doesn't have to pump vertical, just horizontally when laying down which is easier to do. Sitting puts the legs completely downhill along with a couple of bends to get back to the heart. I have excellent bp (117/67) but must be that thickening blood I guess and that particular position can cause an issue.

In October of 2016 I flew from LA to Sydney, Australia. DVT (deep vein thrombosis) is a real issue on those long flights (13 hours each way) so as part of the in-cabin safety speech (which is a video recording since all the seats have TV screens on the back on those big 777s) they actually tell you to get up and walk around the cabin every couple hours. Even if you're "healthy and strong" sitting still for that long can be bad.

As far as the seats, I haven't noticed they are annoying at least in my '06 TRD OR? Drove nearly 8 hours from Phoenix to LA last spring to take the kids to Disneyland and don't remember an issue.
Is there a difference between the models in the seats?

the TRD models have a better seat (at least imo). bolstering is different for sure.

I don't think so. Some folks have no issues. Lots of folks do. My 06 had standard seats, no bueno. My 10 TRD off road seemed the same, no bueno. This 15 TRD pro, though having leather, which at first seemed better still has that blasted 2" drop down at the butt.
I'll see if raising it up and maybe just a little more padding helps.

My 05 Prerunner with leather seats is very comfortable for my size. Could sit all day with no problem.

No fun. I've had clots a few times now...always in my legs fortunately. Self administering the lovenox shots sucks.

I just had knee replacement surgery 6 weeks ago. Very thankful I didn’t have clots after...

Those lovenox shots have no love!!! My insurance picked up the scrip for Eloquys. Thank goodness. Those little shots sting like holy cow!!!
