Does anyone have the break down on number of trucks sold that are for example DCSB VS DCLB etc.? I feel like I see way more short beds than long out there, just wondering what the actual numbers might be.

Well they manufacture more short beds than long beds.

Up until 2016 the TRD Off Road didnt come in a long bed.

The Pro doesn’t come in a long bed and unless something in the US market changed here recently the limited doesn’t come in a long bed.

Thats because Canadians have their crap together.

They get leather seat options, heated seat options and I bet they will have the first power seat option.

meh... i really don't care for leather and manually moving the seats are faster than power. but i can see why a lot of people complain... 40k for a truck and i still have to move the seats myself?! the world has become lazy. LOL!

I want power seats just to have better height adjustment since Toyota refuses to fix the seating position of the truck.

But like anything power related, its just one more thing that can break.

And leather is infinitely better to keep clean. Thats why I have to have it lol

It's all about the positions a power seat provides. Nothing to do with being lazy for me wanting it.

That's easy to explain. Most people want double cabs, and most don't want their truck to be almost the length of a city bus. That leaves one configuration that is going to be the most common.

Fair enough. The numbers I'd really like to see is the breakdown of trim levels. Like, on this site, it seems to be mostly OR's, but in the wild I overwhelmingly see Sports.

I would agree for sure, i can find hard sales of just (tacomas) but a break down of model and trim would be pretty slick.

from what i've read, with both models being about the same in price, the added locker and crawl control options sway them to get the OR. and because about 80% of people on this site like to actually go off-road, its a popular choice. not saying the sport isn't capable.

here in the midwest, not a lot of places/areas to go off-roading like guys in the west, so almost every tacoma i see here is a sport... but i really like my OR even though i may never use crawl control.

you guys are right! i forgot about the height adjustment. i'm a shorter guy so it would be nice to go up a little.

but i remember in my wife's 14 corolla, they had a lever that you could manually pull up and it would adjust the height. wonder why they couldn't include that in our trucks...:notsure:

This was the case because of weird Canadian packing. Up until 2017 you couldn't get a double cab short bed in automatic in Canada. Now we finally get that option with the Off Road and Limited. However we can't get a long bed Off Road, there is no Long bed Limited, there is no short bed Sport... So still not as many options as USA. (I am talking in automatic for model year 2018)

I'm in the west, and I still overwhelmingly see sports. Like I'd guess at least 75/25 Sport/OR.

My guess as to why it seems to be the opposite online is OR owners are probably more likely to be enthusiast owners.

I believe it's because the Cabin is too short. The distance between the floor and ceiling in the Tacoma is too small to allow for any meaningful height adjustability.

Right, but I would think they could do an inch up or down (so two inches of total play).

Folks who use their truck beds to haul crap want the extra foot dude. It ain’t all about looks all of the time. Canadians buy more long boxes and used to(and may still) get an extra leaf in their stock spring pack. Furthermore, a DCLB with a 3” lift is boss.
