I sold my 2008 Tacoma back in 2013. I loved that truck.

I'm considering getting another truck. I thought I wanted a Tundra, but I just drove one and it's just too big. I don't need a big truck, as much as I like the idea of it.

My main complaint (and really the only complaint) about my Tacoma was the short bed, so I'd like a long bed next time.

This Tacoma is right here in Birmingham...

I bought mine last year with 20K, DCLB off road with JBL/moonroof package for $34K out the door including a $1300 100K bumper to bumper warranty. That seems like a fair deal though.

do you need the double cab long bed? Its 14 inches longer than the access cab. A really big difference.

I'm hopeful that I can talk them down a little.

I need the DC for sure. I have two daughters (6 and 4). I'd like the long bed if I can get it. I have a garage that can fit the longer truck.

Just to let you know, the Tacoma is basically a full sized truck. It's only 3 inches shorter than a Silverado I believe, weighs 4500lbs, and is about at wide as a first gen tundra

Yeah, they're definitely not small trucks. Length and width aside, though, the Tundra interior (particularly in the CrewMax) is yuge. It's like the first two rows of a Suburban w/ a bed on the back.

I would wait until theyv release the 4th Gen. Hopefully they have learned something with the horror show the 3rd Gen has been.

I think you're good with a 17 or 18 over a 16, but I happily drive a 16 and the only recall I had to deal with was the rear diff gasket. I'm about to hit 40k miles too.

Take it for 1 hour test drive. Personally, I'm on my 2nd 3rd Gen. Though this one has a fewer issues than my first, I would get a 2nd Gen....:anonymous:

No brainer. Get the DC longbed, then. But if it were me, I would get a new 2018 truck. You're basically paying the same price as new. Perhaps you'd appreciate the new safety features in the '18 (radar cruise, lane departure, collision warning).

Also, if you go brand new, either '17 or '18, you'll get incredible financing deals. 0.9 to 1.9%. I don't think used car loans will touch that. Which means, you may even get a better deal overall compared to that truck.

In 2016, I paid 37 grand out the door for my TRD Sport 4x4 AT with technology package.
