Mickey Thompson Wheels

Hey,

I am wondering if anyone has a similar set of Mickey Thompson tires on their 3rd gen.. with 265/70/17 bfg k02 and if they have any experience of rubbing?

17x9
-12 offset
4.5 backspace

Might want to change from 265/70R17 to 265/65R17, much less likely to rub

 

you will get a little rub on the mudfraps but they can be trimmed. I'm running 265/70/17 Duratracs on 17x8.5 -6mm offset FNs and I had to trim my fraps ever so much.

 

I am just wondering if the extra -6mm(-12 total) will run into issues

 

shouldn't be enough to ruin anything. 6mm is a little tiny amount when you consider how much difference there can be from 1 tire to another.

Don't get how people keep rubbing things like mud flaps with such small tires, I could fit a 35 inch tire and still not rub my factory mud flaps

 

What are you running on your truck? do you have a lift?

 

Yeah I have a lift, but the center of the tire is still about center of the factory mudflap. I have 33s now but there's still about 2 inches before I would hit the mudflap no matter if I hit a bump.or not

Have you moved your truck after getting the bigger tires? LOL Because I now have 285/70/17s on and I have had to set the caster to +3, take off the mud flaps, trim and melt the fender liner, beat the pinch weld flat, and still have some rubbing on the front corner of the bumper when pumped to 40psi and reversing at full lock. And that's with a 2-1/2" lift.

 

I've had these tires for 4k miles... And I have a 3 inch lift

 

I have micky's atz. My tire size is 285/75r 16. Wheels are 16x9 -12. Stock suspension.

First, it's a good tire. I have close to 10k on them and they look brand new. There is some road noise, but not much considering how much tread there is. They are pretty hard rubber so they don't perform well on snow and wet. It did get me through the MN winter, just slower cornering vs stock wranglers.

As far as clearance, I did everything that @remgu2000 did and only rub full lock in reverse when giving a lot of gas. Haven't taken them off road but I'm sure it would rub everywhere

I would look at the atz if you havent already. Be different and pick something other than K02s

 

I'm running 17x9 -12mm offset with 265/70/17 Toytec Boss 2.0 and have no issues. When I was researhing my buy I was told it would rub without a lift.
