Those points on that crossmember are where you would stick jack stands but you want to lift from that round thingy

2/2 for threads on “what not to do” in the 3rd gen section lol

Reminds me of the “I drained my tranny instead of my engine oil” posts over in the 2nd gen section.

1st gens don't :) You can use a jack on that piece on a first gen without bending anything. That amazes me that a floor jack caused that

The owners manual (2018 TRD 4x4 Sport DCSB) actually shows arrows pointing to those two indented points on that crossmember and to the two points outward towards the drums on the rear axle assembly as the four jacking points on the vehicle. After looking at the jacking point that you're talking about, the round thingy, I would have no problems using that as a jacking point at the house using a floor jack but out on the road with the regular Toyota jack I think I would stick with the indented areas shown in the manual for jacking. Would probably actually be easier since you're not lifting the entire front of the truck, you're only lifting the side of the truck with the flat., if that's why you're jacking it in the first place.

When I did the A/C drain mod, I used the Toyota jack to lift the front right side instead of dragging out my floor jack. It was pretty difficult to crank with just that corner on it and an empty truck.

I'm thinking of a bottle jack and extensions, esp if there is a load in the truck.

Same guy taking about why toyota doesn’t ass a pressure relief valve on a sunroof sunshade. Think about that for a minute

Go back to the second gen forums

Lol cause someone suggested Toyota/manufacturers claim there is pressure buildup between the glass and the sun shade, and if that was the case I am questioning why not a pressure release valve. But either way hope you had fun wasting your time digging through my posts. Otherwise I’ll do as I please.

Uh, you didnt see what happens to the rear fenders when you take one through a touchless carwash, did you?

3rd Gens are the off-road princesses of the Tacoma world, compared to the older models! :)

That truck was pretty well fucked too. Still don't know why they call em touch-less car washes since they beat the shit outta your vehicle... Don't have to touch a spray wand maybe?

Took 3 seconds, knew it would be long before I’d find something stupid. Probably could find a lot more, but you’re right. You’re not worth the time

Get a long steel bar 16x2x1 in and put 3 holes in it to match the round holes in the cross bar. Drill and tap the holes. slide the bar thru the round hole till inside and level. Use another bar a bit thicker with 3 holes not tapped. Three screws thru the bottom bar screwed into the top bar and tight till it pulls out.

I am gonna jack my truck up tomorrow using that little notch up front. Sure as hell looks like it will do the trick for oil change, tire rotation etc.
