I'll try that. Today was my first try with wiping the shit with ammonia, and that really helped too.

 

We have a barrel of lye that the old school fuckers use to clean aluminum with. I won't touch it though. Fight club visuals come to mind every time.

Dont use brake cleaner, cutting wheel, flapper wheel. They all leave particals behind, the brake kleen will kill you, the others just contaminate the weld.

 

Chlorinated brake cleaner specifically... Is it phosgene it makes? I know it's something bad.
