A long walking stick is kinda useful for slinging the lazier ones out of the way.

I'll see a lot of it from my front yard and not get a stiff neck from looking up.

One thing I like about when they are in the Mississippi River towns is the bluffs channel them. If your smart you can get up on the bluffs and have them come straight at you. Helps when mother nature plays nice and pushes the cloud ceiling down so they have to fly lower than normal.

As they bank for the bluffs sometimes they are so close they hardly fit in the frame

I just changed out my K&N CAI filter after 10k miles or 2.5 years and it was dirty . Can't believe how clean it was inside the intake tube or the inside of the filter , not a spec of dust/dirt anywhere

Put my spare filter on with the K&N Filter sock this time . Can't believe how the hate for these CAI are on TW here . With the new filter and Sock you can feel a noticeable improvement in power and acceleration . when under boost now you can really here the Blower whine and at idle the Air being sucked into the filter is loud

I get a double dose between the base and YPG. I see the freefall school jumpers just about everyday I'm out there on top of the flying circus out of Yuma.

...and those annoying sumbitches there...I stayed on NAF El Centro for the better part of 3 years, going on 4 and that's the winter home of the Angels....almost everyday they practiced and most of it over the base and surrounding farm fields. Between them and whatever units were training there was just no quiet till about 2000.

I don't mind putting in the time. It is a good project and the kid seems well into it, very mature and has some very positive energy and attitude. He'll do good and I'm there to take the heavy work out of it for the sake of time. Some of the ground there is really tight and acts like a lump of concrete. So the trees they can't dig, I'm going to basically dig it to turn the dirt over then backfill the hole so they can dig the right size hole.

I don't know why I thought the AF would be so much fun when I hated being around aircraft in the Army....I guess I make for a pretty fair operator but probably not the best Airman. We had F16s in my unit for the 8 years I was there, drones in my next and KC 135s in my last. Except for the drones, it took 30 minutes and a ton of funky body language to get in a 10 minute conversation.
