    I use (2) filters , one on the truck and one cleaned and oiled wrapped in a bag and placed in a box . This way I've got a filter ready to go on the truck quickly and by the time it's needed no oil residue is visible that can foul the MAF

    I cleaned /oiled the spare filter 2.5 years ago and has been wrapped in plastic bag and stored in its box and just today I put it on my truck . The filter is not soaked in oil and looks like its a new filter from K&N

    The filter sock was on this filter when I bought the truck and when I changed it out back then with a new filter I didn't reuse the sock . As I mentioned previously when I pulled off the filter today the intake tube is dry with no oil residue and as seen in the pic of the inside of the filter I posted it is also clean

    I learned a few things with these K&N filters while helping with a dirt track team . a wet /oiled filter will slow the car down by .005 of sec per lap . Also we would use a filter sock on a lightly oiled filter in dry slick track conditions

    . Took the Camaro out for a little exercise today and it like that cold 50° air up here . Car has been sitting in the garage for over 3 weeks and it was a PITA to start , it was not happy !!!

    Had a little carb fire while trying to get it started luckily I've got my starter and ignition separated by switches . When it popped I just cranked the starter over and sucked the flame out
