Crap, sure got that wrong. 4.88 was what I was shooting for. Now that I have that figure right can I get another answer or do you still think 4.56 is the best choice.

4.88 would be good if you were running 35’s. They would make your RPMs way too high on 33’s. 4.56 is the standard for 33’s on outfitted rigs.

Thanks and found additional info in a few searches. Saving more questions for AOP.

So no point in getting new gears before 35s? I'm torn between what to do first. Gearing, 35s, aluminum plate bumper, or 14" rear shocks with 63s.

If you are automatic transmission, 4.88's would benefit you on 33's. I'm manual transmission so the 4.88's were too much for the 33's IMO.

Do the 63 swap first. The ability to keep both rear wheels on the ground is a huge benefit when wheeling. Also, you can run 16" shocks if you take the fender liners out.

Also, that was in reference to a 2nd gen. I have several friends on 4.56's with 35's and they wish they were on 4.30's.

Yeah I'm on the slushbox. I'm actually okay with how it drives right now with 33s; but I don't have any additional weight aside from sliders.

I think a relocation kit with 14"s will be enough; tons of flex in your photos.

What about front suspension? My icons are almost maxed out a preload and I'm still just a little over 2" inches up front. My buddy with a 1st gen (who also has 63s done) recently swapped out his OME fronts for ADS and loves them, except that when we were adjusting them they were hard as fuck to adjust with their spanner wrench.

ADS is the way to go. Adjusting them is super easy with a flat tip punch and a small inner diameter pipe.

As far as gears go, if you can find someone with a manual transmission that is regearing to 4.88’s, see if they will swap diffs with you. The 4.30’s are good with 33’s. Ask @SearArtist, that’s what we did.

If you do a lot of highway driving I'd say do 4.30 gears.

Like stated above we swapped gears, so I have OEM 4.30's with 33's and it's so much better than it was with the AT and factory gearing - but, I do a lot of highway driving so it works for me. It still may not be enough gearing for some people though, just depends on your intended use. If you plan to getting 35's in the future and don't drive 80mi/day on the highway then 4.88's would probably work better for you in the long run.

It's actually not bad at all right now with my stock gearing and 33's (285/70/17s). I mean yeah, it's a little slower than stock but nothing to where I want to regear, but when I run 35s I think it might be a dog.

Yeah my commute is 10 miles local round trip and I work from home 1/2 the time so I think I could live with that...

Oh, what are you doing for bumpstops? I read that you don't have any rubbing with the 3" ADS lift, but what about when stuffed up front?

Stuffing is limited by my wheelers superbumps up front. This is full stuff.

    Yaaass! Do it. It’s excellent.

    See :D

I have to redo my shackle hangers this weekend. They need to be moved forward some so the shackles can be about 45 degrees (like you said). I barely have any angle, which is part of the reason it was so ass high. I pulled a leaf and now it’s almost level. Hopefully after I fix the shackle hanger and add the leaf back in, it’ll be just right.

Only if the parking curb at work counts. Man I REALLY need time off. The amount of OT I’ve worked in the past 3-4 months is mind numbing. Anywhere from 70-85 hours a week. I took 3 days off just to get all the suspension done. But hey, the bank account is happy. And so is Uncle Sam.
Trust me, I’ll be flexing them out the first chance I get.

    Not much stock left.
I like the choice of music on the Florida Tacoma’s vid. Prong, Snap your fingers, Snap your neck at the 4:45 mark and then followed up by Pantera I believe, but I don’t recall the name of the song.
