    Hey everyone,

anyone here ever used line-x ultra? specifically on fender flares? I'm looking at having it done on my truck but would love to get some peoples first hand experiences. I tried searching but really couldn't find much in the way of information or pictures. I'm mainly curious about durability and if it has had any affect on the paint under/near the flares from rubbing.

    Thanks in advance.

Your opinion. May or may not be the OPs.

Regardless, it's a great product that he should at least be aware of.

Looks like a smoother version of a Kevlar vehicle coating that so many jeeps have around here. I’m sure it would hold up as well as any other bed liner material made for thin application to vehicle bodies

@maverick42 I scoured the site two nights ago for the exact same reason. Nothing in the 3rd gen forum. Are people not doing this anymore or is it so common no one talks about it anymore? Please share what you learn. And if you don’t mind please share quotes you get.

Side note. I only have 390 miles on my Taco and the leading edge of the rear flares show signs of small debris hits already. Man these things are soft.

absolutely man, I'm gonna shoot some emails to the local dealers and see what I get. I've been looking for the last few days as well and really cant find much. I'm considering this for the same reason, got some scratches on the front passenger flare and while its really not noticeable from more than a few feet away, it bugs me. haha.

I did see some threads on a raptor forum speaking highly of Line-X on flares. And most recommend having them sprayed on both sides which encapsulates the flares. There theory is, less prone to delaminating at the edges.

I had seen people mention that it should be applied on both sides. I'd seen some other posts on different forums saying costs ranged from 200-400 but I havent found anything definitive.

I was quoted $350 to do mine in 2015.
I should have had it done; they are chewed up looking now. Still might...

Forgive me for not knowing what it’s called. But I also want to do the black section of the front bumper.

Please stop spraying this textured ugly crap on a perfectly good car...especially a classic like that Jeep! Future owners will thank you.

I'm sorry, I wasnt aware you were making my truck payments. I will continue doing what I want with my truck until such a time as you start paying for it.

Ive yet to see a rig that looks good with it on. Sorry just my opinion...take it leave it dont care. Stuff looks awful, once it gets dirty, it never really gets clean again. Can see the use on a crawler or something like that...but thats about it!

They were able to cover the scratches on the right front without replacing it. It has only been on 2 months.

Thanks for the opinion but I'm looking for reviews from people who actually have experience with it.

Awesome, that looks great. I'm definitely gonna have this done. How long have you had it on the truck for? Any issues with durability or affects on the paint under/around the flares?

2 months, no issues yet. When they put them back on, they reused the adhesive tape and was not sticking properly, it was 35* out. I took the truck back and they hit it with a heat gun so it’s tight now. No rubbing on paint.

I don’t think it will matter, just make sure that they fit tight before you leave. My shop did the removal and replace inside, they just had to hit it with the heat gun. Also, some of the plastic clips broke, so they had to make a Toyota run to get spare clips, so take them with you. I had purchased a new RF flare and parts in case they had to replace them. Contact @gunny1005 or Conicelli Toyota Parts for decent prices. Would have saved time plus use of new adhesive tape

    Yep...I'm sold.
If I recall correctly, my quote of $350 included prep of non-painted plastic.
