I finally completed my wiring for my new SwitchPro 9100. All of my wires are accounted for in the tapping category. Please see my complete write up HERE but I used two add-a-circuits for my High Beams and Ignition Wires. For my Ignition Wire I tapped into the A/C Fuse. For my White/T2 Wire I tapped into the H-LP RH-HI Fuse. For my Pink/T1 Wire I used a 3M T-Tap and tapped into the Reverse Light OEM Factory Red Wire Pin 7. I drilled a 1/4” hole in the upper right corner for a Factory Look. I also used Spade Lug Connectors for an easy way of connecting and disconnecting the wires if need be and I covered the Lugs with Red Electrical Tape. Worked amazing and Fuse Lid closes perfectly. Thanks to @Mr.PowerTrays & @switch-pros

In regards to the mounting of the power tray:

    1. Has anyone had issues with mounting the Switch pro in the horizontal position (With accessory leads facing straight up). The switch pro instructions note to mount it vertical to avoid water penetrating the seals... Just a thought..

    2. Has anyone has issues with wiring the accessory leads to the terminal block/ ground bus? Does this defeat the purpose of have a completely sealed, solid state device?

I ask because I like the look of the neat wires, but don't want to give up any reliability/ performance simply for wire management...

Waiting on my power tray & some parts/pieces to come in the mail, planning how it will all go together...

    Hey Ryan!

I haven't heard of anyone having a problem with the Switch-Pros taking on water because it was mounted it horizontally. You've gotta be doing some pretty hardcore wheelin to see anything more then a small splash or two in the back corner of your engine compartment. The switch pros is waterproof and has a very good sealed connection, so if someone were to get water in their connector somehow, I'd bet it would have more to do with a pressure washer than just water sitting on it...
But I'd love to here if anyone has had this issue...

And to the second question, no it doesn't defeat the purpose of having a sealed/solid state device. That sealed connection is to protect the Switch Pro and its internal circuitry. You don't want to get water trapped water in their, it can corrode the device and cause connectivity issues.
With regular wire connections, You still want to make sure that water doesn't get into the connection and corrode the wire. But that's why we use heat shrink on the terminals. The busbar and terminal block is an open air connection, so nothing can get sealed in when connecting your accessories to the Switch Pros.

Thanks for bringing this up Ryan! Anybody have any other thoughts? Let's keep this discussion going! haha
I designed this product because it's what I wanted and it fit my needs. Then I had so many people inquire about it and want the same setup for their vehicles, that it pushed me to pursue this at a more professional level. As with any product there's always room for improvement, like using sealed connectors for each accessory... But the cost, knowledge, specialty tools, and time it takes to do that would deter most from this project and honestly not yield any different results.

Right on thanks @Mr.PowerTrays ! Just want to cover all my bases, I got the 9100 delivered and will be installing in the near future!

To anyone considering the switch pro: I'm very impressed with the product so far, everything from the packaging to finish seems well thought out and feels highly durable. Update to come once I get it installed.

I worried about that when I was doing my research and came across this guy who got water into the switchpro connection:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/switch-pros-users.474985/page-10#post-16914640

But that person's general feeling was his switchpro unit had a manufacturer's defect that aided in allowing water to mess it up. It really sounds like that was a one-off issue... and with so many people mounting these horizontally (either on a powertray or on top of the fuse boxes), if it was an issue I think it would pop up way more.

Nice man! I believe OGE will sell you their new tie downs at cost if you wanted to upgrade.
I still really like the original ones though too.

I'll get you linked in the 2nd post!

Ordered a set! I like the OG ones myself, but they're quite large and get a little too friendly with the terminals.

    Hey guys,
I've studied and studied and am getting pretty close to begin collecting parts for a Powertrays/SwitchPro install. I've worked through quite a few questions due to the excellent write-ups. All of those are very much appreciated. It is awesome to see the amazing work. I'm sure I'll have more questions, but for now...

How is everyone getting the wires into the stock fuse box cleanly? Drilling a hole and putting a grommet? Other? I'd want it to be nice/neat/clean like the rest of the install.
    Thanks!

I didn't go to the stock fuesbox under the hood, but to the fuseblock under the dash. I went through the stock firewall above the brake pedal where everything else goes. Otherwise I know @KTJO 4x4 has an excellent write up about how she went through the fusebox under the hood.

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Ahh ok, I hadn't even thought of that. I actually was looking at the writeup by @KTJO 4x4 and it has amazing attention to detail! I just didn't see that one part about getting the wires out of the fusebox. I'll revisit. Maybe I just missed it.

I'm pretty sure she documents it somewhere. Otherwise yeah, I would just drill a small hole and grommet it well. It's not like the fusebox is watertight, just vaguely intrusion-proof.
