Hey guys, I just pulled the trigger on a 2018 Blazing Blue Metallic TRD Sport. It'll be on the lot at the end of the month. I'm making the switch from my 2009 Jeep Wrangler Sahara (2 door). It's going to be hard to start from scratch again as there was alot of love, sweat, and CASH dumped into the Jeep. 4.5" lift, 37" tires, re-geared, and locker installed just to name the highlights but I've always been a big fan of tacos and it'll certainly be more practical as a daily driver.

No big mod plans yet, just a few cosmetic changes and a T-cover right off the lot. Putting some OR fenders and OR rims on right away and hoping to sneak a pro grille outta my dealer. (Although I know they're being restricted from Toyota right now).

Eventually I'd like to put a locker into the new rig, with a lift and tires but I'm throughly planning to enjoy the creature comforts of the Sport life.

And before I hear the "you shoulda bought a OR if I was going to turn a Sport into one anyway" comments, I did weigh them both out and figured it was much easier to put a locker into a sport, than it was to cut a moonroof into a OR haha. Coming from a rig that could go top down and doorless in the summer that moonroof was a nesscesity for my sanity!

**Edit: OR with moonroofs aren't a option in the Canadian market :(

Here's a pic of the old rig, I'll be sad to see it go!

    Welcome

You can’t get a moonroof in an OR?!!

My 16 OR MT has a moonroof.

Welcome, and enjoy the new rig! I am also saying goodbye to a Wrangler in a few days. The 2013 JKU Sport S served me and the family well, but with three Toyota trucks owned in the past, I look forward to getting back in a 2018 TRD Off Road, Double Cab (Inferno red with 6sp. manual). Oh, it will have a moonroof, too!

I’m guessing size was a big factor in getting away from the JK, but why’d you go truck over the new JL or JLU? Or even hold out for the JT?

    Asking for a friend....:anonymous:

I should have clarified in the Canadian market a OR with moonroof isn't available. Not even in the base level Sports :( you gotta get the Sport Upgrade package (leather, moonroof, wireless charger)

I did briefly entertain importing one but by the time the inspections and shipping fees were added on, and the currency exchange (ugghhh) it'd be just as much as a Pro! And basically I didn't want to pay the price for the Pro. Although I'm really just jealous of the pro owners out there.

Thanks man! I'm really excited about it, but sometimes it can seem a little too light in direct sunlight. I believe the blazing blue pearl had more of that effect? Hopefully the metallic doesn't have that effect. When there is a bit of shade on the truck its the perfect blue IMO!

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one making the switch, I'll really miss the Jeep but when it's time, it's time. Hopefully the moonroof and motorcycle will keep those topless cravings at bay!

Haha after all that cheering about the Pro

I hear you though. The new JL is legit. I’ve got a 17 Pro too, so I know where you’re coming from

I think they're great trucks man! And the buildsheet is perfect for the parts Toyota uses. Unfortunately just out of my budget :( I really enjoyed the car payment free lifestyle of the Jeep, and wanted to keep the new rig as affordable as possible ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You're going to trade for the JT? What's your big push for that?
