    Hey All,

So with the help of a member here (thanks stock locker) I’ve learned a lot and decided to pull the trigger on TRD Pro 4Runner wheels and ko2 265/70/17 c rated tires (I know, original) on my ‘18 OR. I realize it’s not what Toyota engineered for the taco, but you can say that about any aftermarket wheel, right?

I was wondering if anyone has had issues with using the locker/mts/crawl control due to the slightly larger wheel? Is it fine as-is without any calibration? Also, I used the tire size calculator and it’s about a 3.2% difference when determining speed. That doesn’t seem like a big deal, but doesn’t this affect the odometer reading as well, especially when it determines the maintenance intervals?

And one last thing... is off road performance better overall?

    Thanks in advance!

The only thing worse than one pic of Fabio is two. Lol!

From everything I have read and seen the differences between the two tire sizes is minimal and people run them all the time. I plan to get 265/75/16 for mine.

Ok cool. So mileage wouldn’t be way off at the say... 5000 mark? And you keeping the stock wheels?

I switched to the t4r pro wheels and 265/70/17 wildpeaks a couple weeks ago. No rubbing so far with full lock forward or reverse. I haven't gone through any major suspension compression scenarios yet but I'm not expecting issues. I wouldn't worry about mileage differences.

You'll be fine with all MTS /CC questions, speedo /odo accuracy will be dependant on how yours is originally from the factory, some members show it becoming more accurate when compared to GPS speed over ground with +1 upsize.

Rubbing will be dependant on how much you compress, alignment and if you're running mudguards.

Offroad performance overall is more dependant on tire type for terrain, KO2 are not known for being great in mud or sand.

Every truck is different, my upsize never rubbed at stock height but I run a different tire than the KO2.

Some tires are also run larger or smaller even though they're all "sized" at 265/70/17. Wildpeaks are known to run a little larger than most in that size.

Oh ok, yeah it seems many with the ko2 do not rub. It seems I could also just get 5100s with stock springs to lift it a little too for not a ton more to be safe?

Sure you can do that but I'd wait to see how the upsize fits first.
