    3” lift. Sway a ways 2.5 on 285 75 16 and much more
    Hello TW,

The other day I pulled off my sway bar links to test how my truck would ride. It seems to be much better off road and feels more smooth on the road. Then I thought it would be nice to have the option to disconnect the links with a pin. But looking on line no one has these available. I found some for the 4runners but nothing for tacoma’s. So now I’ve decided to make some myself.

This is my plan so far:
Since I have a 3” suspention lift I think it will be a good idea to extend the link to bring back to stock position or close to it. I will test this theory on my truck. Hopefully this will make the truck ride softer. (Something to do with angles and less stress on the parts).

I’m making a prototype right now. Have parts coming in the mail next week or so and will upload my progress on here. Once I perfect this design I’m thinking of offering them to you guys if there is enough interest.

Let me know your guys thought or idea. I’m open to both.

    Thanks

    3/15/19 EDIT:

Up date on this is (sway bar sucks!!!)
I diched mine for a number of reasons.
    1st - It sucks
2nd - Its a pain to connect and un connect. Truck needs to be level otherwise your trying to flex the sway bar by hand.
3rd - There are 2 sides to this. With the links connected there is less travel so less "traction" off road. With links disconnected you get more travel but...
a.) cv angles become extreme and look like the travel needs to be limited with some straps
b.) way more rubbing is happening on the trails due to more travel

With my set up I have heavy springs up front so Im fine with out a sway bar and ok with the rubbing for now. Will eventually look in to getting some straps to limit travel a little.

I need some taller quick disconnect sway bar linkage for the rear. Anyone know where I can get that at?

Ditch the sway bar altogether and be done with it.

Good to know... I wonder how many other states are doing the same.

Once I get the first gen down I can look into making ones for 2nd and 3rd gen. That given if it turns out how I imagine it.

How often does that need to happen? Just do like they do with cats and other emissions stuff here in Cali, bolt it back on, clear your codes, and have it smoged. Then go home and remove it all again. Once every couple of years isn't that big a deal.

FWIW, when I got my Kings, I removed my swaybar entirely. I was hesitant to remove it when it was my daily driver, but honestly I'm not that concerned about it. It drives just fine. I do drive it a bit more timidly, knowing it doesn't have a sb, though.

The problem with the dissconnects is once you disconnect them, now you have these pieces (not just the swaybar itself, but the links, too) flopping around unless you bungee them down or something, which, IMO, is kinda hoaky. So you'd need a clean, and strong way to keep the dangley bits in check, too.
