Plastic bumpers, really plastic bumpers on a truck? I’ve already replaced the rear with metal and deciding on the front. May go with low profile hidden hitch.

I wish the Tacoma could fit tires bigger than 265/75/16 without cutting anything
Fj manual transfer case would have been nice from factory
Boxed frame would have also been nice
And v8 option would've been amazing
Also if the back whole window could roll down like the tundra that would be cool

Love my Taco but hate that they don’t have tow mirrors. You pay extra for the tow package why doesn’t that include tow mirrors that stick out a little farther. It’s such an obvious necessary piece for towing that I dont know why Toyota doesn’t offer it.

Never thought about most of the stuff people have complained about. I wish the drink holders in the console were about 1/4" larger in diameter so they would hold a standard 16oz drink bottle.
I wish a locking tailgate was standard on all models; nothing fancy, a manual with separate key would be better than no lock.
I wish a 6 foot bed was the shortest one offered.
I wish 4-wheel disc brakes were standard. DRUM BRAKES on a 21st century vehicle?????
I wish my heater fan didn't squeak as it ran on low.
I wish the truck was paid for.

But I gotta say, the back up camera is AWESOME when hooking up to a trailer.

I can relate. I owned a 1980 Toyota Hilux, 2WD, 20R 4 cyl engine, 4 speed manual transmission. I owned it from 1986 - 1996, put ~100K miles on it during that time. It averaged about 18 MPG. My 2017 V6 averages about 18 MPG. And while my 2017 has a little bit more power, it certainly isn't an increase enough to justify the same MPG as 38 year old engine technology. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but there is very obviously a huge reason why all auto manufacturers have intentionally refused to design engines that actually run at the fuel efficiency that current technology makes possible.

Jesus, the seats in this thing really are atrocious! Never mind the fact that they aren't power but they truly are uncomfortable for anything more than a quick drive. I didn't notice it in the test drive or in previous rides in other peoples Tacoma's but the more I drive this thing and for longer stretches the more this is starting to get to me. Maybe I'm getting old or maybe its cause I'm currently having some back issues but these seats are pretty awful. I keep hoping they'll break in and get better or something but I don't for see much change coming in the future.

Not up on the 3rd Gen, but my wife has back issues as well. Try one of the seat support things you would use on an office chair, helps her a lot

I dislike how I spend money on my Tacoma, I dislike even more how much more money I will be spending on my Tacoma.
This forum has done nothing but cost me money. With that said, I LOVE everything that I have done to my Tacoma.

I agree 100%. I found this with the link below. I worked like a dream. I got the "adjustable kit" and ended up putting a 1.5 inch lift on mine. It only lifts the rear of the seat so that the bucket seat is not lit sitting in a bucket.

yup am aware of the fix. just something I disliked about my tacoma... was suprised when a 2nd gen tacoma didnt come with one and I had to shell out 130$ for something most cars have right out of the gate!

Rear suspension is getting soft so the entire back of the truck sinks when you sit on the tailgate

    Steering wheel play

    Below average mpg

    Peeling paint

    Creaky passanger door

No fog light indicator and sliding rear glass is not motorized.

I really do like my truck. Sometimes I go out and just sit in it to see if I can find something I didn’t know about it.
