Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

I know, very strange. There was in fact a quarantined file, but I have no idea how this could have happened as real time protection is turned off. I did go into settings and added the folder where all my OVT files are housed as an exception to any scanning. Hopefully this will take care of the "ghost in the machine". Will try again tomorrow.

Doing this worked for me also.

 

I had to shut down 3 firewalls in Defender; personal, network, and another one that I forgot the name of. I kept shutting stuff down until it worked.

 

Do we still have to idle for 10 mins or are we good to go now? I remember reading in the past we had to. I am min 5 the anxiousness is killing me. Either this works or my taco is for sale. Hey and this app I see screen shots of with fluid/oil temps, etc what is it and how can I get it app store?

I'll need a suitable PC - migrated to IOS a couple of years ago...

I remember seeing some posts about PC's, but given the >700 pages, I've searched to no avail... can someone let me know approximately what page(s) have a recommended laptop/tablet as-is with software included and without having to configure it too much?

I don't want to go crazy since it will be 100% dedicated to just this app...

Well, my wife was running late from work so I figured I'd give it another shot. I had to download the ECU and TCU files again as the Defender issue probably affected them, but the flash went just fine. Mid 2010 MacBook Pro running Bootcamp with Windows 8.1. Idled for 10 minutes. First drive tomorrow morning.

Unfortunately, like a bonehead (I wasn't thinking), I filled up yesterday with regular. Completely forgot that I planned to flash today. So now I've got to burn through a tank of 87 before I can reflash to the 91 tune.

 

We should have the rest of pending kit orders out through next week into end of march. We will be fully back in stock at that time so no delays afterwards.

Sweet, I just did this and I was able to to start up pcmflash without defender stopping it. I just hope it will allow flashing with out issue.

 

Thanks for the tutorial. I already got it working by excluding my OVTune folder in Defender settings, but this is good to know for the future.

 

Just dump in a bottle of 104 Octane Boost - $6 and it treats up to 18 gallons.
Or STP Octane Boost - it contains JET FUEL!!!

 

Putting together a more comprehensive review for the review thread but so far I'm seeing about 1mpg better on 103 87 in D mode ETC off. Once I finish this tank I'll try D mode with ETC on for a tank and see how it compares.

I'm going to test this out. If it works as I am hoping this will cheaper than buying 91/93.

 

Finished my tune- 87 octane - and the truck has been idling for 30 minutes. Time to take a ride.
