There’s been a half way steady bite since the last sub freezing temps. Last time they were this steady through the winter was 2011. When the sound freezes over like it did, it pushes the fish out of the inlet and they form big schools (1000s of fish) that run up and down the beach. Then the schools break up and sit in the sloughs for the rest of the winter into the spring before they disperse all together and head back into the sound. I’ve been down 3 times this year with nothing to show but wasted gas. There was a good bite today, but I was asked if I could work and I said sure, figured it would pay for the ditch lights I just bought lol. By the time I got down there it was dead unfortunately. It was fun though, my buddy with a ‘95 tacoma with 50k miles met up with me down there

@ovrlndkull hit the local pond today to play with the fish finder. My previous one was a Garmin that was a 4” vertical screen, this one is a 5” horizontal screen. Huge difference between the two and plenty big enough for single view or split view. Screen gets crowded when you try to do three screens (1/2 on one side with the other half split and stacked). I don’t need the three screens so I’m happy with the size but if I did need all that info, I’d want a bigger screen.

Also something to note, this 5” screen is right on the border of being too big. If I went with a bigger screen, I’d have to get creative on positioning to keep it out of my way.

I dig it. Might I only recommend capping the PVC at the front so when traveling down highway air isn’t pushing through potentially causing a lifting affect?

Yea it will pass right through as long as trailer is completely level but if at angle it will push up as it goes through. You can find flush mount pvc caps

    It's cheaper on ebay!

Also didn't catch jack in Long Island over the weekend... so much for your residential striper theory :rofl:I'm sure they were around somewhere just not where I was. Water temp was right around 38/39 degrees I knew I didn't have a chance :bananadead:
