Wicked Flow Exhaust

Have any of you guys heard the FM 10 series by any chance.

 

Yeah, it was crazy loud, but actually sounded really good. The only video I knew of has been taken down. In fact, it was spjm1992's video. I'd compare it to a aero turbine 2525 as far as level of loudness.

Here's spjm1992's comments about his FM 10: "yeah it is pretty loud inside the cab i can hear the muffler more than my trd intake". I also think as a "race series" muffler that it may be illegal in most states. PM spjm1992 to see if he can repost the video, if you're interested.

Exhaust quiets out nicely. Just slightly louder than the TRD can. You can really hear it at low speed/low rpms though. Around 25-30mph and about 1800-2200 rpm kinda loud drone but nothing discouraging

Lol, I thought it kinda sounded similar when we were playing with the sound.

Wish we could have gotten a better one, and we plan to. I would say they are close to the same at WOT and possible in the low speeds/rpms the 13" may be slightly louder but not by much

 

what does it take to install one of these?

 

A welder and maybe some extended hangars

 

IMHO, the 13 sounds louder and has more of a rumble to it. I cant comment performance wise.

However, I do feel that if I had the 13, my wife might complain. However, she does not with the 18 so maybe it would be a good thing. Keep her from wanting to drive my truck so much

What would you guys rather get: the FM 10 series or the Wicked 13?

 

If I had seen this thread a week earlier I would have probably given this Wicked exhaust a shot. ( I got magnaflow last Wednesday) I got to admit it is impressive the way it rumbles. Good warranty too from the manufacturers. Thanks guys for posting this. Kudos to y'all.

Man I just heard the FM 10 the other day and it sounded pretty good.

 

Was it louder than the 13" wicked flow from the earlier video? As loud as an aero turbine 2525??

 

No I dont think that it was louder than the 13 and I haven't heard the aero turbine 2525. But probably not though. I think im going to order the 13 though this weekend.

 

That's weird...b/c the FM 10 video that used to be up was LOUD! It wasn't as loud as the 2525, but it was at least as loud as the 13" W.F., IIRC. I don't want a 'loud' truck...I just want it to sound good - as deep as I can get it, and with no drone at any cruising speeds. I'm probably going to end up w/ a dynomax ultra flo (that I will expect to replace in few years if it ends up raspy like others'), or a 13 or 18" W.F.

 

Not too much of a drone whatsoever, unless climbing a hill doing about 65 at 3grand if the truck downshifts. Seems to have more low end power now and I really don't have to get on it, so usually my rpms stay arounf 2 g's

That org. comment really discouraged me from getting a W.F., b/c b/w the rpm range you gave is prime cruising speeds. But, then your other comment I quoted said there's not much drone whatsoever. I'm not calling you out on anything, I was just wondering if you could comment again on the drone/resonance of the muffler. Thanks

 

flowmaster 10 is okay if you like a grip of high pitch rasp.

Look at spintech- good mufflers that sound loud but not too loud. Louder than Flowmaster 40, but not raspy like a 10series
