    Ive even though of doing an axle swap to a elocker axle. So the consensus is arb is still the way to go?

    Kenny, check Craigslist, I saw a 4.10 rear axle with elocker just recently for like $200. It was in Miami. You could easily swap out your front hubs to 6 lug as well.

    For you, a factory e-locker axle will probably be preferable. It's an easier swap and you can get a premade wiring harness from Lo Range Off-Road.

    So the wife’s RAV4 cvs are shot (only 65k) Any of you guys done that job? Should be just as easy as our trucks right? Not much on line about it. Same spline drive?

    Does anyone know if the axles for an elocker are the same for the non elocker. I know the diff is size different but haven't heard anything about the axle.

    I was kind of wondering the same thing. Mine is called a 8.4 T100 diff, but is technically an 8.0. Mine was the last year of the mechanical LSD. The 09-15 6lug trucks are all 8.0 diffs. Just E locker and regular. I was if the axles were the same and what the actual differences between mine and the 8.0. I know mine has 31 spline axles, but thats it. Idk what size the 5 lig diffs are?

    I know from hands-on expeience they are for a 3rd Gen 4runner. I would imagine they are for a 6-lug Tacoma too. What I don't know is if they are the same for a 5-lug. I thought the 5-lug had a smaller axle than the 6-lugs, like a 7.5 or something.

    So I know with 5 lugs you can swap in a non elocker lsd and lockers (like arb) which would mean the axles work with non elocker diffs. I'm asking because I'm in the process of acquiring a complete elocker axle and I'm wondering if I can just slide my 5 lug axles inside.

    The best advice I can give you is when you get the elocker axle, pull a shaft out of it and your current axle and measure them with a caliper and tape. If the shafts are the same length and the splines are the same diameter and count, then you should be good. Otherwise...vvv

    Probably so he don't have to buy new wheels and carry two spares. :D
