The SR thread, let's see them!

I have been running with them for about 3000k miles... What is it that I should be worried about?

 

Sheering off every single one of your lug studs. The fact the tire shop allowed it is insane. You can and will damage your wheels also. Steel wheels use an acorn lug nut, aluminum wheels use the kind with the cone that centers the lug hole on the rim with the lug stud. Absolutely do not drive like that, but the correct lugs.

 

Damn, didn't realize it was that serious. Had it done at the dealership, he said it pretty casually and I kind of forgot about it. I already ordered them I'll put them on ASAP, thanks for the help.

 

When you do it, inspect the studs and rims just to be sure. Once you have the correct ones in hand, you will see they are totally different.

 

Didn't realize there the steel ones different as I've always had aluminum wheels. Definitely need to pay heed more.

I might add flares and mud flaps because I do tend to get mud, grime, road salt etc. splashed up the sides. One little puddle and I get streaks up the doors. I definitely want to get some sort of running boards/side steps

 

Mudflaps make a huge difference in keeping the truck cleaner, and do offer some protection from rock chips.

I just added mud flaps...not sure I like the styling, but my truck stay waaaaay cleaner. No chips on my sliders either!

 

True story. I won't be sacrificing my mud flaps. I'll probably get 265/70/16 tires just to be able to keep my flaps with no lift and no rubs

 

I'm going to measure up to what would be my best bet on flares to make it legal as far as covering the tread, not the entire tire and definitely not past the tire. My state does have a law that requires you cover all tire tread with the fender, flares or extensions so other vehicles don't catch a stone or debris. Then I'll look to see what mud flap will fill those bottom corners nicely.

Me neither but apparently Toyota made them available for fleet sales only. :face palm:

 

Maybe we'll be able to buy a clapped out one after ten years of fleet duty.

After towing for many years with a manual I kinda like having an automatic.
