Looks so much better without it, that thing looked like a tacky JC Whitney add on with an Overbite...

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
I had mine on for quite awhile but I did trim it to better match the wheel arch and more clearance.
    20180309_215908.jpg
Then I just took it off when I installed new skid.

Looks much better without it. I live in New England where they salt the roads in the winter, so frame rust is in my future. Not sure what is uglier, rust or the air dam....LOL. Thanks for posting the before and after pics.

I'm still on my first tank of gas after removing the air dam. So far MPG hasn't changed at all on combined local freeway/city driving. I never exceed 65 in the Taco on the freeway, if I can help it, so there's that.

Weirdly, from the looks department with it on, you can say that the truck looks like it could do okay off road. With it off, the question in the back of your mind is gone.

I am keeping it around for any long road trips.

Haven't noticed any changes in my MPG. As far as howling noises on the freeway there's no noise. Probably because I put the bolts back in the holes after removing the spoiler - no holes to whistle lol!

I ran filters on fuelly on 2017 Tacoma OR and Sport

    Sport 18.88 mpg
    Off road 18.12 mpg

This is the closest to any sort of rear estimate on the difference between lip and no lip. Granted there are tires, and maybe a bit of weight. My guess is 0.5 mpg difference at most on a sport model if taken off.
