When do you guys want to do a camping trip? Thinking of camping right on Lake Blueridge if we can get the really nice spot. Enough room for decent amount of rigs if the water level is low enough

 

AS it stands right now, the trip to Windrock is happening this weekend. we're keeping an eye out on the weather forecast, as its showing rain on Saturday and Sunday.

 

Is there anyone with a 2nd gen shortbed, with a camper shell, that is thinking or wanting to add a bed/drawer platform?
I've been thinking about removing mine, and curious if there is anyone who may be interested in buying it.

 

I am, but I bought a Decked system about 2 months ago. I just need to install it.

We got any Audio gurus? Looking to upgrade the sound in my 2015 DCSB, would love to pick your brain on easiest upgrades and someone to do the instal etc

Looking at this spot if the water is low enough but with all this damn rain we've been getting...........

 

What do you need to know? I know a couple things and have installed a couple things on my truck, but nothing over the top.

 

Def. not a guru, haven't worked on car audio since probably high school/early college, but I just ordered some stuff from crutchfield, came today and hoping to install this weekend. I can let you know how it goes.

I ordered new components up front, new rears and an alpine power pack.

 

some base questions would be:

1 - would the front and rear speakers be easy to swap out without any wiring changes?
2 - which speakers would be plug and play?
3 - I'm thinking of putting a sub behind the seats of the passenger side, I know I would need a custom box + amp, curious if anyone has recommendations to make it as easy as possible

 

I'm basically doing that with the alpine power pack to boost the speakers, minus the sub. Supposedly everything is pretty much plug and play with the included brackets and harnesses from Crutchfield. I did a little research on here, and then chatted with a crutchfield rep that was really helpful.

I'll let you know how easy it actually is when I get done. Spent right around $400 total, but there were cheaper speaker options for sure.

My $0.02:

1) Most speakers come with just bare wire leads; you use a pigtail connector to connect them to the factory harness. Not that dissimilar from when you install a head unit. Pretty easy stuff, it's literally just two wires.

2)If you're running an aftermarket head unit, compare the RMS ratings. My understanding is if you're pushing at least 3/4 you're okay. BUT if you're planning on running an amp, then compare that number.

3) Only enclosures other than fabbed I know of are Taco Tunes. Sorry can't be much help on that one, I'm running sans amp personally.
