Don't ever see myself buying a new trailer. If it costs more than a grand it isn't worth it.

I'd love to post some house updates... but no dice. Been busy working.

But I have started stocking some recycled materials. Currently have most of the shed including trusses, siding, some sheeting, metal roof. Was hoping for the front of it to be completely open (span of 23') but I'm going to have to put a post in the center since I'm not about to spend the money needed for a beam that'll span that.

Greenhouse is going to end up being a more "normal" shaped rectangle building with plastic panels instead of plastic sheeting. I have a bit of lumber that can get that started as well.

Hopefully once I get back from vacation next week I can schedule a time to get the septic installed. I realistically have another four weeks until the power company drops the pole, and then I'll have to spend another chunk of change putting some outlets on the pole. By then I'll hopefully have the septic in as well and I can move a camper over there which will mean more progress on the little stuff like shed and greenhouse.

Being busy sucks for getting the house done, but.... it is paying for it, so I'll suck it up. I just know we'll be SLAMMED this summer so we'll see. But... having it paid off sooner would be nice as well.

    @Iamraiderpower

Any suggestions for fire gear websites. Particularly right now a nice go bag. For now, just a second set of stuff I can keep in the truck, and soon enough for packing out on a wildland call.

Also boot suggestions? I have a few pair, but I know I'll be needing something for shift days. I use hiking boots for work since they are more comfortable, and multi purpose.

They aren’t providing you with gear?

    Galls.com is a good resource

Bates 8” durashocks side zip best boot for on shift. Easy on/off and comfy for around station and non fire/rescue calls.

Sweet, I usually was stocked with Bates zips back on the street but didn't know what model they were.

I got bunker gear, gloves, shirts supplied but its a small dept, so they dont have the money to give volunteers everything. They'll give me wildland stuff once i get into that. Just finished my s130/190 so I'll have my red card once I do the pack test. And I dont mind buying stuff that fits well and is comfortable.

Wow, its been a long time since I was last in here.

Going back to your financing stuff Brandon, Go get yourself a business credit line/ revolving credit (Credit Unions are usually better terms than Banks) and be done with trying to find financing each time you want/ need to buy something for work.

What's your latest plan for the home?

Yeah issue last time was the fact that i just started the business at the beginning of the year.

House plan is still the same.. 40x80 building split in half.

Opps, forgot to drop this battery storage article which is why I came in here in first place.

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/mar...is-only-a-few-years-out/ar-BBKnL3V?li=BBnbfcN

What’s coming is a more fundamental change to the materials that make up a battery.

First, some science: Every lithium-ion battery has an anode and a cathode. Lithium ions traveling between them yield the electrical current that powers our devices. When a batteryis fully charged, the anode has sucked up lithium ions like a sponge. And as it discharges, those ions travel through the electrolyte, to the cathode.

Typically, anodes in lithium-ion batteries are made of graphite, which is carbon in a crystalline form. While graphite anodes hold a substantial amount of lithium ions, researchers have long known a different material, silicon, can hold 25 times as many.

article states the change will require a significant departure in current manufacturing process, I wonder how this will effect pricing.. I am a short few years from investing in a big solar project, if it can wait that long.. very interesting article!

Biggest threat right now is the fact that alternative energy is being attacked/taxed instead of being promoted which isn't going to help.

Did a bid on a 40x65 building today. It was two stories (living over garage) but there was a ton of room.

Spotting the corners on the ground made me worried but I think I'll be fine with the 40x80.

Stay on the North Shore, it's the prettier side of the island. Also, do the Nepali Kayak trip if you can.

Eat at Keoki's Paradise (Dukes) on the South Shore. Have the Hula Pie.

Avocados are freaking everywhere on the North Shore. Can easily grab a few off the trees when driving around.

Go snorkeling at Tunnels Beach. Make sure you go out to the outer reef where it's deep and creepy.

    Drink lots of Mai Tia's.
