    Hi all,

Time to do my brake (upgrade) since the current rotors are warped, I'm gathering the necessary parts from this thread. One thing I may have either missed or couldn't find but what is the torque spec for the hub? Thanks in advance.

    Tony

This is a great write up, thank you so much! I’m about to embark on a similar adventure. I’m assuming you bought 4Runner and not Tacoma rotors, right? Could you provide a link to where you got them? Also, a link for the 4Runner calipers?

I was a little confused on your write up on the parts & their numbers.

    Thanks in advance.

With the upgraded rotor size - whats the minimum size rim needed to fit? 15 inch?

    You're welcome. I ended using re-manufactured from O'reilly.

Could you by chance provide a link or part number to your rotors, calipers and pads, please?

The calipers I bought on eBay from a wrecked T4R. The brake pads I ordered on eBay for a 2015 T4R as well as the StopTech Slotted rotors. This was the cheapest route I found

Awesome, thanks! I'm pretty new to all the lingo around here. I'm assuming TR4 means TRD 4Runner? Which is helpful because I was trying to figure out which model I needed the calipers and rotors for. It looks like these would be the right calipers - http://www.trdparts.com/2016-4Runner-TRD-Pro-Brake-Components-s/26076.htm

Yes, you want 2015+ 4Runner components. That’s what I run
I’m debating on doing that rear disc conversion, but it’s like $1000

It’s actually 2010+ 4 runner 5th gen. I heard with the 2015 they changed the bolts size so may I’ve issues. This I’m not 100% but 2010-2014 no issues.. It needs to be the 14WA stamped calipers. I’ll add some info around this in the beginning as it’s a recurring topic.

I would also as posted look for remanufactured calipers. Save you a ton. If you buy new I would look at an actual stoptech kit.

From my priceing it was $100 difference between getting new and remanufactured.

So the 2010+ are still good to use then. Just don’t use the 2015?

Ok the site above they are $285 each. You can get a pair for less than that. The whole package should cost $400-$600 depending how you source parts. Just make sure it’s the 14WA caliper which is 2010-2014 for sure. I think 2015+ May be the same as the Lx calipers and the bolt changed.

Calipers are $62 each side. Save you way more than $100.
    https://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/2010/toyota/4runner/brake/brake_caliper.html

Also I believe 4Runner and Tacoma use the same pads.

Keep in mind I’m in Canada. Some don’t ship my way and shipping usually kills the price. I’ll check out the link above. Thanks!
