if the kid was over 18 then yeah, they should have charged him, but if he's under they should have just let the dad hit him again and left it at that

Yeah he was wrong for hitting a kid, but can you really blame him that's his "little" girl. Put yourself in his shoes.

 

Agreed, yeah, but still--How good of a father can he really be from jail? I just think attacking the kid doesn't set the best example for his daughter either. I definitely have empathy for Dad. It's a natural instinct to protect your child. The problem is less and less people are actually thinking about adverse consequences to their actions & the situation didn't have to be dealt with by resorting to violence. Just my opinion. I don't want it to become any kind of debate. I'm probably a little biased about aggression as I teach an Anger Management course.
