    In the United Kingdom and pretty much every European country (as well as China and other Asian countries), if you take the test in a vehicle with an automatic transmission, there will be a restriction on your license saying you can only drive vehicles with automatic transmissions!

    As someone who didn't learn how to drive stick until more than 3 years after he got his driver's license, I am glad that no U.S. state has that restriction. However, I believe that more should be done to save the manuals from extinction in this country!

    @Iamraiderpower

    If you look closely, you can see that this is a rather half-assed job, but still...

    When was the last time you saw a 4-door 2nd gen Dodge Ram dually?!?!

    I saw this and immediately remembered a "restomod" of sorts that I saw at a car show almost three years ago. It's a 1956 Buick Special body that has been grafted onto the chassis of a 1984-1985ish Buick LeSabre!

    This is the second or third time I saw this car at a show, and the first time I saw it, I had the opportunity to chat with the owners...

    I honestly do no not remember if the vehicle is titled as a 1956 Buick Special, or a 1980-whatever Buick LeSabre. I do remember, however, that this Buick has the 1980s Buick engine (I believe it was a 4.1L V6, and surprisingly, the owner told me that it did not feel the least bit underpowered) and transmission. I do not remember how much of the chassis came from the 1956 Buick or the 1985 Buick, but the car is fully operational...

    The air-conditioner works, according to the owner!

    I've got pictures of '56 Chevy Bel Airs that I've actually taken myself at shows over the years...

    What sucks is that I've just shut down the PC for the night (my external hard drives do not work with my Mac)!

    That was an aftermarket conversion...

    All Mark VIIs came with a 4-speed automatic transmission, even the super rare BMW diesel versions!

    If I had a choice, I would gravitate towards 55 Chevy's first, then 57, and 56 last but that 1 was pretty damn cool.

    I think the '57 is the most beautiful of all the "Tri-Five" cars!

    That is correct, GTC was the Company that performed it, Jack Roush 351 and 5 Speed, said a couple hundred were made.

    Apparently (according to Wikipedia), at least one diesel Mark VII was equipped with a manual transmission...
