Wall sconces installed and 1st coat from chair rail down. I've decided on simple semi-gloss white on the mantle. And I'm going to keep the brick as is, but I'm going to remove the fireplace doors (only for looks as I don't use the fireplace...it's actually got a 2" thick piece of rigid foam in the opening that I painted flat black) and paint them satin black.

LR previously had a light blue/patterned wallpaper above chair rail and an off white paint below (as seen in pics above).

    ...^^^...

Yes. I’m going to start selling the stuff in about two weeks. Send me a private message with your cell and I’ll text you. Many of my tools are brand new never been used.

I sold my house in in Sandy Springs and am going to live most of the time in Thailand now ... just part time in ATL.

I will try to post some pics here too maybe another week.

I have 3500 ft.² of wormy cherry flooring three quarter-inch that is super looking too. This wood was purchased several years ago and is in storage i can’t buy it now because import rules I think. OEM new and in perfect condition still wrapped in the factory containers in heated and cooled storage.

Basement project update. We are closer to being done with the project, all the painting is done (FYI, painting shiplap...is terrible, highly recommend painting prior so you don't have to brush the gap by hand...) Shower door is installed, shower head/faucet installed, 1/4 turn shut off's added for supply lines for the bathroom sink and toilet, all electrical face plates in place, return/supply vents installed, doors hung and hardware added and more I'm probably missing.

One of my projects recently has been the ceiling fan, which normally would be easy. Our ceilings are only 92", because of this, I wanted a fan that would be flush/hugger that did not have a light kit, that was also something I liked the look of. This ended up being very difficult at a price point I was ok with for a basement guest bedroom. Well I finally came across a 52" Keane fan that I liked the style of, but not the finish. I was able to cut 2" out of the 4.5" down road to make it hug the ceiling just a little bit tighter. The fan was originally a brushed nickel which was not going to work with the finishes in our home, so I disassembled the fan entirely and then used Rustoleum oil rubbed finish spray paint, and some matte clear coat to paint the fan, reassembled once everything had cured and mounted. Happy with the outcome.

Misc projects left, hearth and mantel, carpet, tile for the bathroom, back splash, towel rods, closet systems. Luckily down to the details.

Currently I'm working on a headboard for the bed that will go in the guestroom. Our other bedrooms have old 5 panel doors as headboards that we buy from a salvage yard here in town. I will sand them down to clean them up, paint and scuff up some, glaze and clear so it has more of the rustic country look my wife likes then will hang them on the wall as a heardboard. One of them will be installed on industrial drawer slides so that it can slide over to expose the electrical panel that will be hidden behind it (Form and Function, my favorite)

    Progress.

I've had a halfway-decent Craftsman table saw for about 5 years that I got off craigslist to replace an older Ryobi table that was gifted to me. I'm looking to upgrade to something that can handle a wider rip and is more accurate and powerful. I think I've narrowed it down to 2 options. Anyone using either or have another recommendation? I know the DeWalt is supposed to be better, but for the price difference, the Hitachi is tempting. I want a jobsite saw so that I can stow it away and transport it easily.

Good to know. I must say that I very much like the knurled shaft (I assume that's what you meant, not handle?). You can double your speed with that, even with oily hands.

We recently moved into a new house back in April. When I say new, I mean brand new. No window treatments or ceiling lighting in bedrooms, etc. So far, the only projects have been blinds and a few ceiling fans (house was prewired for the with wall switches in each bedroom, which was nice).

The first true project was last weekend. A full closet renovation for the master walk-in. It came with a basic set up, a few hanging rods with top shelves. That was all. I went through a lot of closet options through Lowe's, Home Depot, and Amazon. Ultimately, I decided on products from Amazon. The brand was John Louis Home, 12 in deep setup. It was easily the best price for a decent quality closet system. I bought two 8 foot closet sets. The idea was two 4 foot shelves, a 2 foot wide tower, and a 2 foot shelf on the other end for tall items. I modified the setup for my needs. Then I bought another tower and some extra shelves to make a shoe rack.

    Here is before:

My wife LOVES her new shoe rack lol. The color is Honey Maple, for anyone interested. Quality is decent. They're far from the best instructions, but overall it wasn't bad. In total, the whole closet took me about 8 hours, including a run to Lowe's for a new thing of drywall patch because mine dried out (removing the old shelving left a few holes).

    No worries.
I wish I had that kind of time. Need to do wife’s closet but going with wired shelving to save time.

Personally, I would have been 100% fine with some wire shelves. We had those in our old house and got by just fine, and I was a much bigger fan of the price! The wife, however, likes the finer things. I have to admit though, the wood looks much better and assembly wasn't hard by any means.

The paint itself is Benjamin Moore UltraSpec 500 low-sheen. I love this stuff, paints great and very durable, go to a legitimate paint shop and shouldn’t be but $29 a gallon.

The color is Sherwin Williams “Functional Gray”

Here’s the paint code if you want it.
