Definitely not. Usually there's an incredible amount that comes out on it's own, anyway. Even with my yardbirds.

But with just breasts, no dark meat, would it help them from drying out too much?

Stuff dries out in a crockpot? How long do u have to cook for that to happen? 3,4 days?

As long as you have a lid on the crock pot and you have something like Rotel tomatoes or cream cheese or cream of x soup you'll be fine

Well I woke up to a cold raining morning. It was about 40 here in Socal. The rain stopped so off to the store for the fixings of beef stew. Came out pretty tasty.
I put it together about 7am
    20180317_082408.jpg

and about 8 hours later it was turned into deliciousness!!!

At one time crock pot lids didn't have vent holes in them, in fact most of my life. For safety reasons now they now all have vent holes, guess trying to prevent the McD's hot coffee type of lawsuit. Even my IP slow cooker insert lid has a vent hole in it. To make up for the loss of heat out the vent hole I noticed the newer crock pots have higher wattage heating elements, they do get hotter than they used to, and you do loose moisture out the vent hole. With the older lower power heating elements and non vented lids it was pretty much impossible to dry something out.

Interesting. I didn't know this. I have to older crock-pot. They must be at least 20 years old. But they work great.

Yeah I like the older ones better myself. Low on the newer ones is usually pretty darn hot in comparison IME.

Cooked corned beef, cabbage, taters, onion, carrots, and beef broth in my multi-cooker. Pressure cooked and it was done in 1.5 hours. Deeeelicious! Wife and I both loved it, which is highly unusual. Pretty sure the CPs are gonna get dusty. :)

I'll ask the wife. She was responsible for this goodness. I do know it was a basic 'biscuit' dough with some berries soaked in a simple syrup. Super tasty.

did you put a towel between the pot and the lid so the dough didn't get soggy?

Negative and the dough wasn't soggy either. And I don't have a vent in my lid (didn't realize that was something until reading it here yesterday). F'n magic :)

My enthusiasm for the crock pot has been reinvigorated. I can't wait to throw some stuff in the crock pot in the morning turn the knob to low and be gone for hours only to come home to something that might be delicious.
