Replace the chrome ring around air vents

Anyone try this yet? I was thinking about popping mine out and trying to paint them satin black or something. Not only would I like to get rif of the chrome, I noticed they have bad glare on teh windows while trying to look out during the day. In case anyone is looking into this already or is willing to purchase one the part numbers are: drivers-5506104050C0 centers- 556500C060C0 passenger- 556500C060C0

I used @rrentrop 's stickers from the thread linked above including shifter console trim:


I was going to go the route that @mesojdm went, but I don't have a sandblaster.

 

Stickers are cool(they weren't available when I did mine a long time ago). But I still like permanent stuff.

 

I do agree. Thankfully, most of the trim never sees any rubbing or wear.

Weirdly, the interior feels a lot more chill now.

 

Yes, the vent ring vinyl will likely outlast your ownership of the truck! The verdict is still out on the cup holders but mine show no wear after several months of use (keys, cups, and other various objects thrown in there).

 

The console is still looking perfect. Thanks again for all the help with it.

Idk if they are left off of the SR or just black but the SR doesn't have chrome around vents. So maybe you can just remove them or swap for SR black ones? I'm sure someone will chime in with answer.

 

I'm not finding these in Blue on the ebay page, am I missing something?

 

They are black on the SR, but you have to buy the entire assembly to get them, which is expensive.

 

I haven't added the color options to the listing yet but you can just add a message to your order with your color request.

How did you install yours? I just got mine but it didn't come with instructions.

 

All the vent and console stickers go on dry. The steering wheel badge sticker goes on with soapy water.
