Fog wiring question

Is the pigtail wired backwards?

fogs dont work upon "plug and play"

 

I don't have a factory schematic. If you have a test light you can connect the ground of the test light on the frame and figure out which one of the wires is the positive. That should tell you if the pinout is backwards. That will also tell you if you are getting power to the pigtail. Make sure your headlight are on and not the running lights. I believe the fogs will only come on with the headlights.

 

Looking at it again, it appears wired backwards to me. You would think that the white/black would be a ground.

 

that was my thought after the fact. Ill disconnect and see if i can swap pins when i get out of work.
It is literally the only thing i can think of as to why it they wouldnt work.

yes. cali raised amber led pods. Worked perfectly fine prior to being swapped to fog location with these provided pigtails

 

Yeah swap the wires. LEDs are polarity specific. @CaliRaisedLed just posted a diagram the other day of how to swap. Lemme see if I can find it

Backwards, I just did mine with the Morimotos: Green ---> Red; Black ---> White.

 

Toyota vehicles - White Wire with Black Stripe is always ground.

 

That's been my experience with most 12v things. My motorcycle is the same way.
