So back on the subject of recovery treads (since @2BeersPlease rescued everyone last weekend and reminded us every time that his treads were only $89 lol) has anyone here tried the X-BULLs? If anyone wants to weigh in, 2nd gen, 3rd gen? Does color affect traction? Most the Amazon reviews were good other than a few saying they crack.

    Lol color doesn’t affect structure.

I have em. Haven’t used em for recovery. Just leveling the RTT.

With that said, they’re a last resort aid to help, if they serve a purpose and crack, they’re worth the 60 bucks. They’re cheap, of course there are other alternatives, but why pay 300 for something to sit in the sun and maybe get used. Some may use them more than others, but for the occasional trips, you’ll have even less odds of even needing to use them.

Obviously, the current gen is probably the best, they change designs based on feedback and tests. I have 1gens, only cause they were cheap AF, like $50.

I may have tweaked a few things...
I was looking at those as well, they seem to be the best price. Seems like a funny question about the color, but then i’m reminded of how different color vinyls all have very different characteristics. I can’t say that the same ideas would apply here but if it did then different colors could very well have differences in durability.

    Agreed.

I have a set of them in orange/red, but only so they're easier to see if/when they're covered in dirt/mud/snow/sand/blood/etc.
I hope to never need to use 'em, but if I do, they'll be available.

A lot of crap and too much money spent
I have recovery boards not the xbull but similiar and they worked really well with getting a newer mustang out of the wet sand at Pismo last august. Bastard didn't even say thank you.... ungrateful bastard. :p I ruined the show for all people just sitting there watching the poor sap dig in the sand.

So i don't know anyone besides @jberry813 who may be able to answer this question, but do kings for a 1st gen perform as well as a 2nd gen? No remote res. Not sure about internal construction.

    ...too much shit to list.
The IFP is inside of the shock body instead of inside the resi. More or less the same design and function, just no remote resi. Meaning smaller nitrogen cavity and smaller oil capacity (easier shock fade). You can have them add remote resi, it just won't be a bolt in solution like they offer for the second gen (resi mounts leverage the sway bar bolts on a second gen which is on the front side of the suspension. Vs. a first gen where the sway bar is on the rear side of the suspension. You would have to come up with your own mounting solution. Which can be a challenge because there's zero room outside the frame at full lock with 33's.

Well it sounds like since ebay has 15% off you're saying to do it.
