    Yessir.
Remote resi only serves two purposes:
    1) Larger oil & nitrogen cavities = More cooling, less shock fade
    2) Attract bros so that they bend over and hunch down in front of your tire to stare at the bling leaving them open for surprise buttsex.

Last question - if i get the standard travel, can they be upgraded to extended travel later? If i remember right, there's a shim you remove or something like that

I can't swear to it on the first gens.
Typically speaking there's a 1/4" top out spacer you remove to make them extended travel. Equates to about 1/2" of additional droop travel.

i guess ill call DSM and make sure

DSM said they believe that this is the case. But this makes me question, is the difference between the extended travel and standard travel really only 1/2"? Or am i better off waiting and ordering the real extended travel versions later (since they're backordered 4-6 weeks and not on ebay)?

Is the small bit of travel worth passing up on a deal? Especially considering you might be able to make them extended travel by removing said spacer later

That's what I'm wondering. Does the extended travel version have significantly more travel than the standard after removing the shim/ spacer? To the point of, is buying the standard travel (even at a deal) a waste of money since the extended travels have significantly more travel?

Im just gonna quote what Jason said a few minutes ago. Doesn’t seem to be much difference.
Then again, I’d happily take the 1/2”

Can't speak to the ebay seller. But King fulfills their orders to their vendors. They sell what they sell. Anything ordered separate from what's in stock at a vendor goes into a specific order which will built to order by King (which is normally 1-2 month wait).

And yes, the extended travel is just a tiny bit more travel (and only droop travel). It's not long travel by any means. You are still going to be limited by ball joints/uniballs and CV binding.

No i understand what Jason said, my question is how does this extra 1/2" compare to the actual extended travels, like when you order the extended travels from king, do they have more than just +1/2" over standard? Or is that all king does for the extended travel - remove the shim/spacer?

See below. Obviously a larger shock, but part 17 gets removed. Typically an integral part of shocks to keep the shaft leverage to a minimum. But with shorter body shocks that are coil carriers, the shaft spacer is very small and the coil keeps the shaft from deflecting.
