I certainly feel the bass under me, but not really that strong where it's distracting. I think even though it's pumping bass straight to my ass, it still fills the cab pretty well. If I turn it all the way up, I do see a little vibration in the mirrors but doesn't make the windows rattle. I haven't done anything else to my stock radio and am pretty satisfied with it. I just wish the radio would go louder so I can listen to music going 80 with the windows down.

Sweet. That is what I want, but want it to sound good. Doubt I will be able to swing the upgrade before jambo, but maybe a summer project or something.

I listen to Rock, Rap and EDM and I'm satisfied with the bass level from the Kicker. You're welcome to check it out next time I see you.

I put some on the inside of the plastic of of all 4 doors to increase their weight. And I put a pad on metal surface directly behind speakers to prevent reflection distortion.

I'm about to upgrade my system but want to keep stock HU. I see several small amps to run the door speakers that have speaker level inputs ( https://www.crutchfield.com/p_113KAM1804/Kenwood-KAC-M1804.html?tp=72998 ). Are these amps, using stock HU, with speaker level inputs better to use than using a regular amp with RCA's and LC2i? Thanks.

Using high level inputs isnt going to be as good as preamp, signal is already amplified, even if a small amount. Going high level to an amp is amplifying an amplied signal.

If you want it proper and clean, use an active line out converter designed to accept amplified signal, or use a DSP. Otherwise, change out the HU for some preamp outputs. If you are planning to power the doors, look at the lc6i, if you are powering the doors and adding a sub, lc7i. If just adding a sub or just amplifying the front doors, lc2i

A major benefit to an active LOC like the audio control is the ability to flatten and restore the bass frequencies or bass roll off of factory non premium HU

I don't want to change the HU as I'm happy with the Bluetooth function, the sound of the hands free phone and steering wheel controls. I know there's wiring kits to make them function w/a factory HU but if it ain't broke, then I'm not going to break it! I also don't want to add a sub box and large amp and losing interior room.
I want to add front door components and rear door 2 ways powered by a 4 way amp. I want to use a Kicker Hideaway for bass since it's self powered and takes up very little space.
Sounds like I need to go with a regular RCA style amp to push the doors and an LC7i as a LOC. Sound good? Thanks.

Same here, volume out of door speakers is plenty for me without amp. I did try an alpine amp that goes behind stereo, and got too much hiss so returned it.

I’m hardly on due to work and life. But I know some of you DFW guys referred me to a couple local shops for sliders a while back. I can’t for the life of me remember and you fuckers chat way too god damn much for me to go back and search.

Any suggestions? I’d like to stick to local to save cash. All my hobbies are expensive....

Tandem might be one. Lone Wolf used to be an option but not anymore.
