1 the death penalty be used in all states.
2 the death penalty include sexual crimes against children
3 Life in prison as a sentence be tossed out
4 the death penalty be carried out within 60 days or less of conviction
5 the death penalty be carried out immediatly in cases of crimes against children, police, fire, emt, military..etc
6 the death penalty is wrong, just keep using my tax dollars to house them in jails till they die if natural causes

I think it should say "the" instead of "should"? Because otherwise there should be a yes/no option for each question. I'm confused.

The difference between questions 1-5 and number 6 kinda skews the poll a little.....

It's is not skewed at all you can agree with any or all if the statements. If you don't agree with the death penalty pick number 6 I guess there could be an option 7 leave it as is, but the way it is now sucks IMO beacuse if someone wants to kill someone they just need to go to a state without the death penalty or that is easier on insanity pleas

If they kill somebody, They should be killed. Like that illegal in Houston that shot that HPD officer...He got deported...WOW he can just crawl his worthless ass across the border again.

Any cold blooded killer should be killed within 60days of being convicted. JMHO. Why waste taxpayer dollars on them sitting their ect.

Phyco people who have killed and plea insane...Should also be killed. They are still human and they know what the hell they have done.

Now if somebody killed somebody as invol. manslaughter, Depends on the case, Should not be killed, Such as if it was raining, Car slid out of control and hit a guy changing his tire on the road. That dose deserve some kind of time tho.

I believe they should have time for 1 appeal that has to be done within a certain just to be sure they are the guilty one. If caught In the act then go for it To hell with a trail just a waste of tax payers dollars

I agree with The involontary manslaughter stuff if someone dies truely by accident then no death penalty.

I am talkin more about crimes that already warrent the DP. With the definite addition of sex crimes against kids.

That to can also be argued because consinetual sex between an 18-16 yr old should not be the DP but an adult forcing sex on a minor def should be. Reall forcing it on anyon should be but there is always the cases with adults of calling rape after the fact bc things didn't workout or you were drunk and regret it but with kids, oh hell no if I have a daughter or even my son has something happen they guy or girl will get the DP it just might be carried out by me

God only knows how much it would save in Cali if you used the death penatly in Cali. You figure each avg prisoner cost the tax payers 50k a year. That is a figure I got a while back from a prison guard. It is more for death row.

Gray wire, Some lights in the bed area, and some character marks throughout.
    Lets see here.

    1. Absolutely. This just tells me that in some states it is less of a punishment for a heinous crime.

    2. Dismember these sickos. Kids are not able to protect themselves from an adult.

    3. I find it appalling that I am paying for these criminals who get TV, free meals, and leisure time. If it is a life sentence, then end their miserable existence on this earth.

    4. Unless there was a minimum of 4 outstanding eye witnesses, then no. There have been cases made where people who have been convicted have either not had fair trials, or have had new evidence brought up that clear them.

    5. Again. As long as there were at least 4 excellent eye witnesses.

    6. Eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth. If I kill someone and am looking at either life in prison or the death penalty what would I choose? Thats a no brainer. Life sentences get you food, TV, and leisure time with minimal work because you are not trusted to go outside the wire. Meanwhile hard working people are paying for your extended stay in the brink.

EDIT: forgot to mention the free health care.

While I agree with the death penalty, the argument of saving money by execution vs incarceration is invalid. It costs far more in trial and appeal costs to prosecute and carry out a death penalty case than a life inprisonment case.

    Some interesting stuff here:

yeah.. but the point is hopefully that by creating these new changes that less people will commet crimes because they wont get all that free food, shelter, health care, TV and other benefits of jail

    Define "child."

Should an 18 year old get the chair if his 16 year old ex girlfriend claims he raped her? Or if some dude bones a 15 year old that was partying on a fake ID?

Some cases are black and white, others not so much.

    heres my take on it

i like the idea of capital punishment but in real life...the rampant use of it that so many want just isnt feasible

courts make mistakes...people lie...there are quite a few cases of wrongfully accused people out there (and even more where people claim to be and arent but thats neither here nor there)

i dont think society as a whole can handle such...think about it...if the punishment of crime x is death...and jane doe wants john doe gone...all she has to do is fabricate or frame john doe in one of these crimes

again...i like the idea...but the implementation of such just isnt feasible i dont think

and plus i dont think itll solve these crimes or stop them from being committed...sickos are still going to mess with kids...other sickos are still going to commit rape and murder
