How did you have the 5100s installed in the first place? Wouldn't you have to remove the springs from the stock struts and put on the new ones?

I took my truck to a local shop and they swapped my struts for me with my existing coils for $285(labor for switching them plus alignment). I called them back to swap the coils for me and now they want $400 not including the alignment. doesn't make sense to me.

Yeah that seems odd that they would charge you more for basically the same thing just different springs. Would you be supplying them the springs or buying from them? I would say just get some friends together, rent a spring compressor from your local autozone and go to town.

Thats what i actually said to them, your basically doing the same thing but he started going on about how its different. I would be supplying them the coils from HSO.

Did you supply him with a complete strut assmbly the first time?
Never went back and re-read your previous post.
He probably lost money on the job the first time and is making sure its worth his time this time.

Yeah it is different, they aren't doing an alignment this time, should be less. Hopefully you can find a good shop that isn't trying to rip you off, or someone on here willing to help you do them.

I did not. I did the rear struts myself and brought them just the front 5100s and said please install these on my stock coils.

I don’t know. I think they were looking for old oil/fuel tanks they filled them back in with dirt but it’s still going to be a muddy mess for the next couple weekend.

    Thats what she said.

Weather Channel said 5-8" during day and another 3" over night here in PGH. We've got about 1" on the grass here so far....

This is why the wife and I decided to leave, moving to South Carolina in early may and I can’t wait. I’m so over snow.

I don't mind snow in the winter. It's spring now and I want warmer weather. Shoveling snow, let alone this heavy stuff, I can do without.
