Custom LED Map and Dome lights

Installed the V1 AMBER Map Lights today. ME-SO happy with them! Hard to get good pictures, sorry the quality sucks. They look 10x better in person.

Really hope an Amber Dome light is in the works to match (doesn't have to be "ultimate" ). The Amber light goes great with the Inferno! Thanks again @mesojdm

 

Yea, if Ultimate Ambers are ever a thing I might have to switch from the reds just because, like you said, they match the Inferno. I do like the devilish nature of the reds though.

They look great. I was hoping to see more pics before I bought them. How was the install?

 

@Mrshawz the install was simple. I pulled the whole unit down and installed that way.

The most confusing part to me was where to plug the wire in to. I know that sounds really stupid, but i just had the wrong impression before i got started. It took me a few minutes to figure out that once you pull out the original tiny bulbs, you plug the wire into that piece/socket. Slightly confusing because the factory setup doesn't have any wires; so you are pulling out the little bulb only (no wire/plug to disconnect), but then inserting the wire/plug where the bulb was. I was under the impression that the wire fished up through the hole and plugged in somewhere else.

Finally got some time to install these!! This isn’t going to be the last time you’re going to hear this.. these suckers are bright!!

Just in case anyone needs detailed instructions on how to install these here you go, and these are straight from MESO himself:

Map Lights:

Easiest way to install:
1) grab the entire overhead console by the side Edges. Pull straight down hard
2) twist and remove the 2 factory light sockets(the OEM bulb will be attached- remove it)
3) reach down through the light hole(from the top) with a pencil, screwdriver, whatever.. and push the factory lens out
4) fish the new map light connector through the hole and plug into the OEM socket. DO NOT SNAP new map light in until function tested. If they don't work, flip them around(polarity) and try again.
5) after verifying function, snap the entire console back in, followed by the new map lights.

Dome Light:

1)Pop the OEM dome lens off (use a razor blade or a small pick tool) and take out OEM bulb
2)Squeeze the new bulb adapter together(the thing with the spring on it) and snap it into the dome socket. positive facing DRIVERS side.
3)gently tuck up the remaining wire and snap the new ultimate dome in with the REAR first followed by the front.
4)wear welding mask and look up

I am on a rotation between this and the turns... Got my GASSHOLE on order!!!

 

Any update on a fix? The same has happened to my truck, swapped back in all stock bulbs, still won’t turn off.

Seems something is wrong with the dimming circuit, evidently that’s not protected by the fuse as I did the install with the fuse pulled.

 

Which switch is not working? The one by the map lights or the switch on the dome light? Besides you and the member you quoted, I have never experienced this problem. Make sure the map lights themselves push up and click the internal button off.. otherwise they will both stay on no matter what the switch position is.

 

When will more white dome lights be available?

 

I have a set of ultimate whites sitting in my office right now. I replaced them with the reds. PM me if you need a set, i'll sell them.

 

EDIT: Keeping my ultimates. Had a pair of smokes, but someone waiting PM’d me.
