And yep I did buy a vortex range finder :} Still might try one of their scopes on the 300 just not sure I want to put money into that one when I really would like a .308 semi the 300 is a bolt .

just spent some time reading a lot of info, wow so many topics! but I have had an annoying brake-type groan just before I stop, often if I stop and then roll forward a few feet and very gently stop. Brakes work fine and it doesn't do it if I brake hard. Toyota shop says there's nothing wrong with my brakes and laugh at me... just didn't seem like the kind of sound I should hear from a brand new truck. Started when I got my winter rims/tires on. Getting them switched today so I'll see if it goes away.

I like Vortex optics and have had a few on all of my long guns

My Savage Axis .308 I've got a Vortex 3-24x50 scope and it is very accurate and clear glass

My AR , I've had quite a few Vortex Red Dots such as a Vortex Sparc , Strike fire and Strike fire II and now have a Vortex Crossfire II Patrol Optic and like this optic a lot

    Good Morning Everyone !!! :hattip:

Currently 1003hrs and at my AO it's 56° , cloudy skies , winds ESE @5mph and high temp expected to reach 65° today . Raining on/off over the last few hours and looking at my local weather , heavy rain will start in 1.75 hrs and radar show Orange and Red heading my way

Just got back from the store and some of the Desert washes that are nearby streets have flood warning signs . Also the Calif Aquaduct , the level of water has been lowered significantly due to flooding concerns

Just reading some weather news stories here and it looks like Central Calif is getting the brunt of this storm with flooding from Tulare and Fresno

We're having what's called a Pineapple express which is a Atmospheric River and originates in the Warm South Pacific and from Hawaii

Here's an explanation of a Atmospheric River

the only problem I had with a Vortex optic was with a Strike Fire II Red Dot , the bolt that secures the optic to the rail stripped so I had to get a new one

I opened up my IFAK last night to check on some of the items such as expiration dates on my Israeli bandage , Quick Clot and my CAT Tourniquet

This got me thinking of changing out my SWAT for a CAT , I know the CAT is much faster to apply than a SWAT but the SWAT has its advantages

Found this showing a comparison of all Tourniquets

    https://www.blacksheepwarrior.com/how-do-tactical-tourniquets-compare/

What's your thoughts on this ???

UPS man was just here. I told him to watch his speed on the highway and I pointed up to the plane flying over. He said he saw 3 cars pulled over and 6 more state police cars at end of road.
