@MOC221_ - confirmed, I was able to replicate the double bump surge after lifting off the throttle. I guess I did notice it previously but didn’t catch what was triggering it.

My previous vehicle was 2gen Tacoma,it only had the DFCO and that was annoying enuogh.
When after buying this truck in 1 month realized the REVHANG and DFCO mix was just horrible.
Since then I went tune hunting for almost 2 years there was nothing till MAT came along.
Yes I defanetly did not realize that 50 % or more of the problems was just from the throttle alone.your absolutely right this tune helps a lot in managing DFCO and REVHANG but why stop there.

No this is not a sport car but have you ever driven a transport?,try shifting from 1200 to only 2100 rmp 18 times with REV HANG !!

My private discussion with MAT, DFCO and REV HANG we're not off the table.

I am sick and tired of all this AI bull shit witch is going to micro manage our lives is now micro managing the way we drive.

I am 50 years old and I never needed tech for anything.HELL if possible I would want traction control and abs disabled to.

Your driving a Manuel feeeeeeeel the road for you self

No there is none, just there is lack of interest from most members that I don't want the DFCO and rev hang issue to die.
I would pay up to double the price for this truck to have that throttle by cable feel.
The rev hang issue is apparently much more complex than the other issues so just trying to give insentives.

Which file will that be? A map for testing that encompasses all improvements?

I don't know about double the price but yes on the throttle by cable feel. I actually liked the "twitchy" throttle that some complained about in the first revision of the tune,it seemed more responsive to actual "input"

That's my guess, unless Mat ran into something unexpected or he's improving something else behind the scenes. We'll know soon.

And that right there is a critical point when it comes to throttle response. With a cable, you could get great response when punching it, and also maintain linearity and fine control when you were modulating the pedal in low speed conditions. My truck on the original 1.03B/C files would give you one but not the other. It was a real bastard trying to maintain an rpm from idle to say 1500, and when tipping in, even at extremely small pedal angles, the engine would just jump right up to ~1000 and get all jerky. That absolutely sucks in low range when you need to be going just off idle in 1st gear in some situations.
Now all of you, keep your panties on. This isn't about dulling down the throttle, it's about making it linear. Small input, small output. Bigger input, bigger output. Linear, not a pedal commander kind of on/off switch. I believe it's possible to have fine control and great response, if it's scaled properly. Don't forget, Mat has told us that "per gear" mapping is possible in these M/T trucks, so that may play a part too.
We'll see what Mat has in store for us soon.

Clearly the solution is for @MOC221_ to do the R&D and everything to convert all our 3GT's to cable :D

If it could be done, I'd do it lol.

Edit: Oh and BTW (mentioned this a few times) the last file Mat had me try had a beautifully linear throttle tip in and and fine control was awesome. You could hold any rpm, steady as a rock. He also tested it on his own truck AFAIK, and I think he was working on scaling it properly too. ARRRRG can't wait!!

I towed a decent sized load of lumber today and am really happy with the bottom end now ,, pulled real nice and strong ,, guessing the total load weight was about 2750-3000 pnds ,, (wood is green and the end cuts covered in ice ) on 103 b def noticed the surging while trying to hold consistent rpms in lower gears ,, the load made it MUCH more noticeable ,, overall def happy with new towing cabalitites ,, my .02 for the day ,, now to finish prepping for the “nor-easter” comin in :p EAA0A0DC-4922-40BB-B41D-2A4B88CE593D.jpg
