I have a 2017 trd sport dcsb which I love and was planning on keeping for a very long time but now that the cement tacos come in the sport and off road I’m thinking about trading it in. It only has 3,500 miles and I put the pro tail lights, pro grill, and 17” pro wheels with 265/70/17 falken wildpeaks. So what I wanna know is does the dealer take these upgrades into consideration and have u guys had better experience and a higher return trading back to the dealer or selling private party. Appreciate any advice. Thanks

Your added items, may or may not get you extra from dealer. It all depends on the dealer. I would pull them and put back to stock, and install them on your new truck.

As for trading, or selling out right. If you trade it in you only pay the taxes on trade difference. If you sell it out right, you will pay taxes on full new price. So, you would have to sell it for a let's say few grand more than trade in to cover new taxes. Check out what they are selling for in your area, to see if it's worth selling out right. Hope that makes sense.

Best thing to do would be to sell it to a private party, but set up the transaction this way:

Get a buyer for your truck.
"Trade it in" to the dealership
Have the buyer buy it from the dealership at the agreed on price
    Buy your new truck

This allows you to save substantially on sales tax. In my state, about 7%. Some states, this may not matter or apply. But I believe this works in most states.

Painting the truck....I don't agree with that suggestion. You're not going to Maaco with this. Pro painters will cost thousands. To get all door jambs and panels. I'd rather just get a factory painted truck.

Not worth the loss you'll take just for a color change, but its your money. And the parts will not increase the value really, especially at a dealership

Sell it private party and upgrade to a first gen and then wrap it.

Its the same truck.:notsure: Donate that money to a charity if it's so easy for you to piss money away for a different shade of the color you already own. Assuming your truck is "grey" from your name.

Neither, get it wrapped or re-painted...

But trade-in versus private party, always go private party if you have the time and patience for it. Dealers need to make a profit off of your trade-in so you'll always get lowballed on their offer

Then you can change it to the next new color you like in 2019.... A wrap isn't cheap, Plus it will protect your trucks paint.

MGM TRD Sport = bad ass.... cement, meh. I saw a Honda Civic in cement the other day and also saw a Ford Raptor in Cement... what else... think I saw a Subaru Forester something in Cement heck even BMW has cement..

MGM ... it's a nice looking color. Only reason I'd change was if I had an automatic, then I'd trade that for a M/T Sport/Pro any color but white.

Cement is last years Pro.. just sayin

If you have the time advertise and see if there are any bites on it by PP. If not, then go for a trade if you want.

If you want to waste your time, go talk to the dealer. If you want to sell it and get close to what you’ve put in, sell it private party. Never expect to get close to what you’ve put in at the dealer.
