SCS SR8 16” vs. STOCK WHEELS

Can someone tell me how much the SR8 wheel will stick out as opposed to the stock wheel?

Offsets and backspacing confuses me. I have dislexia when it comes to this stuff.

If you go with the 16x8 it shows it has 4" backspacing and stock is 4.5" on a 16x7. So those wheels would stick out 1.5" more than stock. The .5 difference in backspacing and the 1" wider wheel.

 

Thank you. So where does the offset come in to play? I like how the stock wheels look with 1.25” spacers. Could you perhaps tell
Me what offset and backspacing I should look for in a wheel when I want no more than 1.25” of the sidewall to stick out from the fender?

 

It can be confusing.

Im shitty at math, but Im pretty sure it is like this;

If backspacing = 1/2width of wheel you have 0 offset

If backspacing > 1/2 width of wheel you have positive offset

If backspacing < 1/2 width of wheel you have negative offset




Less offset = wider front track width (makes wheel stick out further)

More offset = narrower front track width

I know the Tacoma’s have a variety of “stock” wheels. Do they all have the same backspacing? For example, the stock wheels on an SR5 vs factory “beadlocks”.
