Haha. They usually do well in the initial review segments. I know long-term they can be 'questionable' as far as reliability but new from the factory, they are generally pretty comfy. I was surprised to see the BMW 7 series on that list. Not surprised about any of the other ones.

 

So asking for a friend does anyone know if a rear facing car seat fits better in the back of a 4runner then a Tacoma? Rear door is on the hair small side in the Tacoma and I think the 4runner has a bigger door, trying to get the kiddo in the back and I have to run with my front seat a little closer than is comfortable

 

Anyone having their steering u-joint rusting up?

This is the second time I've had to spray some wd-40 on it.
As you've notice it's slushy on the ground today.. shit doesn't brake in nice weather..

 

What do you mean by 'rusting up'? If the U joint is frozen and not letting the joint flex like it should, no amount of any spray lube is going to solve the problem. You'd need to press out the joint and either replace it or pack it with grease.

If you're just talking about surface rust and trying to keep it looking decent, WD-40 is useless for this. It's probably washed off a mile down the road. You need to use something like Amsoil metal protector, Fluid Film or the like. Something that will stick to the metal and actually protect it, WD-40 does not do this very well.

 

When my son was born, before he popped out, I had the car seat installed by PD. That is one thing I would not mess with, the safety of my son. They told me it HAD to be in the middle, not on either side, so that's how they installed it. Fit fine. But then again I'm not very tall so I don't really need my seat too far back, and neither is my fine.

 

I am using it to try and flush out the crapp . then lithium grease is next.

yeah I heard the seat actually fits pretty well in the middle... I thought about putting it there but the wife wanted it behind me in case she had to look back at him, but considering she is still riding in the back seat I might switch it to the middle and see how it goes

I struggled to put my seat in the middle, litterally had to sit on the thing and couldn't get it latched (think the thickness of my wet okoles had somethin to do with it) but finally had the wife come out and sit on it while i tried to wrangle it into the latches......let's just say it aint moving. Wife also wanted it on the side seat of her car so she could look back i said no safest spot is the middle in case of side impact.
