I had them on my taco. Mine is lifted, but a buddy of mine has the same wheels on his stock off road with no issues. I just got new wheels, so my grey ones are for sale if anyone is interested :)

    Hey 20tacoma17

If my 2015 is an inch shorter than the 2016 do you think it would make a difference if I got 17 inch rims & tires?

I am looking for a little lift without actually getting a lift.

    Thanks Lisa

Wondering if you guys know the answer to something I've been wondering about. Truck is an 18 TRD Sport DC. If I keep the original tires (265-65-17) and change from the OEM 17" wheels that are 30mm offset to the TRD 4Runner Pro wheels with a 4mm offset, is there any concern over increased suspension and/or wheel bearing wear as a result of the decreased offset?

LOL I just asked similar before... with the scrub radius thing. No one seems to care about it which is good, though. Also, the TRD Pro wheels that come on the taco pro's have a 13mm offset, so Toyota at least thinks thats OK.

No nothing conclusive yet and I don't see an answer from anyone...it's still a young question though.

My buddy did that same swap on his 2016 dc with no issues so far. As of increased wear, I don’t know. Dealership hasn’t mentioned anything, he hasn’t noticed any issues.

Yeah, the trd pro beadlocks are 10mm offset as opposed to the 25mm that we have stock. So if Toyota sells those for the tacoma it proves they are OK with tracking wider. (In Yotas eyes)

IDK, maybe the people asking about the offset and scrub radius / possible increased wear just care more about the longevity of their trucks. If you don't, thats good for you. I need this truck to LAST.

I've had a truck for 14 years and a truck for 12 years, both with aftermarket wheels, also have a truck with these on so what's that tell you about how much I worry about Toyota trucks and scrub radius.

You guys are worrying about the dumbest shit right now.

There's a reason the "scrub radius" thread isn't blowing up, it's not really a concern. You'll get more wear with offroading and heavier / oversized tires than you will about wear from scrub radius

Thats good to know, thanks man. But if it isn't a concern, you'd think the gear heads, or guys who live and breathe this stuff would chime in about it... thats all I was hoping for. I nerd out with this kind of stuff I guess and learning about it.

They would if it mattered, it really doesn't in this case.

I guess it only starts to matter if we're talking a larger offset... like -25 or something

You can always make it matter but with these wheels, it doesn't really make a difference.

These are the OEM wheels for a 4runner, a platform very similar to the Tacoma, not an aftermarket with an extreme offset vastly different from the stock wheel.

I'm sure when I finally get them in, I'll shut up and be happy. Just looking for the reliability and longevity "OK" with this setup.

You'll be fine with this setup.

If you're so worried about longevity / reliability with the compatibility of parts and the truck then stay stock and stay on the pavement.
