Best bang for buck LED headlight kit

Looking to install LED headlights but too many kits to choose from. Looking for some feedback please

 

You don't want LED headlights. They have no throw distance. Get an HID light kit with xenon bulbs or something like that

I did a lot of reading about LEDs vs HIDs.. I installed the Xenon Depot HID kit (with the philips bulbs) a couple of weeks ago.. should have been one of the first upgrades I did to this truck. Huge improvement.

 

i installed LEDs for both my headlights and my fogs....the throw distance is actually decent if you spend the money on newer technology LEDs..I have HIDs in my mazda and the LEDs on my tacoma are much brighter and penetrate just as far IMO.
i was skeptical at first but after living with the LED headlights and fogs I can say with certainty that they are very good.

Getting ready to order the xenon hid kit for my truck. When i go to order and it brings up the customize selection do i need anything added on from there??

 

I put nice LEDs in my truck and am switching to HIDs

 

How difficult is it to install HIDs?

 

Took me 15 minutes to actually install. Took another 15 minutes to clean up and hide the wires.

 

Same story ran OPT7s was not impressed, I think the factory halogens did better at distance (although the LEDs do short distances very well)

Now running xenon depot and very happy with the results.

 

I'm actually running OPT7 Leds in my low beams.........2 days ago i've order some xenondepot extreme hid to replace them.

Why? bad trow distance, snow on headlight cover not melting down in winter time, the little fan does a weird noise, those opt7 leds are cheap quality, i don't recommend them.

They looks good for sure but the stock halogens does better. I'm switching to HID.

HID is going to be the brightest, but The Xtreme Pro H11 LED kits are actually brighter then the stock halogens. Here is a pretty good comparison including LUX measurements in a 4runnner (also H11 projector):

HID is going to be the brightest, no doubt. It's just a question of how "much" brighter you want to go -- especially if the truck is lifted. If you do go HID, then check out this review posted on HIDplanet, as HID bulbs are not all the same... just an FYI:

I actually have Hikaris last model and have been happy with them I assume these will be brighter and possibly little more focused.

 

Jon, how long have you had the Hikari bulbs and have you seen any problems? I know they work out of the box, but how about 6-12 months down the road. Thx
