Touchless will always be better in my opinion besides the fact that it doesn’t clean it as well. Ive only hand washed my truck thus far and I still have swirl marks but up and down instead of circular from not being able to get every bit of dirt and dust off of it during presoak but I can only see them in perfect lighting, I think I’ll invest in a foam cannon soon. My sisters car looks like hell from brushed washes.

I’m at 13k & go through automatic car washes.. lol however I wash my in law’s cars & gfs every week by hand. Foam cannon, pressure washer, then use a drying aid when I dry. I can only do this when it doesn’t rain or something. Usually the cars are just dusty.

Never Never Modify! Keep it aggravation free!
I go through a drive through car wash that blow dries the truck. I won't go to the carwashes that have employees drying the vehicles with dirty rags. That's causes some swirls and scratches in my opinion. Don't let them dry it with their dirty rags!

Two things I have never done is have some one else wash my vehicle and some one else change my oil. I have been doing my own since 1966 when I bought my 1964 1/2 Mustang.

Brush washes do clean well, but they dull the paint and make swirls. Besides, the only carwash I could go through is a touchless wash due to my rack and cap, it would catch the brushes and either damage my truck or their equipment. But after seeing what happened to some here after they went through touchless washes, risk imploded rear side fenders in a touchless wash? No thanks!

SpinLite equipped car washes. If you can find one in your area. It’s supposedly the latest and greatest.

The equipment operates at 1/3 the RPMs of traditional car wash brushes and with more surface contact. Slower speed should mean it’s gentle on the paint.

Weather I get pinstriping from trees or pinstriping from Car Washes it's all the same.

    Too much.
I bought one of these. It worked exactly once. Cap broke while switching out the pressure insert (?). Now it's worthless.

I use my truck offroad, my wheels and paint show it. Still like to keep it washed and waxed. It's better than letting it go to shit completely.

I usually take it to the wash and get er hand washed... once a month or once every two months, but take her to the drive-through TOUCH-LESS as it is LAW! Swirl marks almost make me wanna cry, I wanna get her fully detailed comes spring-mmer and probably get a clear wrap to protect the paint top the best of my ability.

True Value and most other hardware stores sell undercarriage washers, they come as DIY put-it-together kits in the PVC plumbing fittings section.

I made my own for less than $5 :)
I dont have it anymore as I dont live where I need it now, but it was basicly a PVC pipe T with the two T-ends capped, a hose adapter on the handle, and a bunch of small drilled out holes on the cross pieces of the T.

I just pay $175 every 3 months for a mobile car wash company to come to my place and wash my vehicles. Been doing it for years and they hand wash the exterior, shampoo and condition the interior, and wax the paint. For older vehicles, I might have them clay bar and polish for another $75. Paint always shined like new even with all the off-roading I do.

Unless you live in salty condition, that’s really all you need to keep paint looking good for years. Car washes touchless or brush causes paint deterioration in the long run cause of the soap/detergent they use.
