    Just got this e-mail.

"The shipping company has confirmed that the kit will be freighted on Monday morning for expected delivery on Thursday next week. The tracking number will be sent to us and forwarded to you on Monday."

    61.2% increase in hp
    39.6% increase in torque

Good new and those increases in juice will walk the dog. So you are talking about 250HP?
What kinda reliability issues if any are you expecting?

thats crank not wheel if im correct. but still drivetrain loss wont be that bad especially with a manual. the reliability i dont think will be compromised at all. with the 2tr being bullet proof and low rev limit and such, if you get the blower properly tuned the truck should last forever...as long as the frame wont rust up or anything else haha

Those were wheel increases based of a before and after Dyno. Check the brochure in the other thread.
HP was from 131 to 211 at the wheels. I forget torque. 248, maybe? We'll also have to see how my headers and exhaust affect it. When Gadtet releases his kit, I will see if there are any improvements I can (borrow) from it.

Reliability shouldn't be a problem (assuming I install it correctly). Cerntifugal superchargers work like turbos in the fact that the boost they produce is exponentially related to their rpms. So while it won't produce as much low-end boost as a roots-type, it is less likely to cause knock at low rpms.

Does alpine supercharger happen to fit 1st gen 2.4L tacos????

I have an 02 2.4L taco and I don't want a turbo setup for reliability reasons.

 wow I so missed that lol. Got to love a price tag though. Rather drop a new motor for that price...

    $3250 man that is alot

Did some of you guys actually pay that amount of money for a bolt on? Not talking crap or anything but you could do so much to your truck internally including tranny for less and get the same or more HP.

That's kind of how I was looking at it. That alot of money to invest into a 4cyl for extra power. Especially since larger engines are now becoming much more efficient.

Well, ok then. Without buying a new truck, or using a turbo or supercharger, how would you increase the hp beyond what the alpine unit would for $3500. Keep in mind that those of us who bought it can not have the truck out of commission for more than a couple days.

    School me.

what exactly are you referring to that will give you this much power increase without the bank spent? intakes, exhausts, retune....what? cause there is no other way to make that power without going f/i, unless you have developed something!

I didnt say bolt ons would give you this much power. I said interally. Piston, rods, cams, high compression pistons stuff like that. And it would be parked for a long length of time.

Trust me if i had the cash I would spend the money to do this. I would love to give my truck more HP. I wish my truck had alot more then it does now lol.

But if I had to choose only one from supercharger or intenal build, I would go with internals N/A.
