I've got mixed reviews about the bike. Luckily I just commute about 10 miles to work and there's an abundance of trails around. Being confined to the road kinda turned me off, if I love it I can move forward and find another bike or if not I can stick to trails and cruise moab.

You bought the most fun bike in the world, I'm actually considering trading my CBR for one. They're so damned fun for what they are.

Love the British bikes. My father has a 72' Triumph Bonneville 750 that's just collecting dust in his garage. I tried to get it going again when I was 15, put a brand new battery in it, changed the fluids, cleaned the carbs etc. Come to find out the old triumphs had a positive ground system and when I hooked the battery up the "correct" way (positive to positive, negative to negative) it was backwards and I fried the rectifier. That was 13 years ago and I'm still not allowed to touch it, and it still sits to this day.

built this thing a couple summers ago. blew the engine, got a new engine, and have only managed to put about 100 miles on since then. hoping this summer i can get in some nice road trips with it or trade it for a drz or something a little more trail worthy. 1985 bmw k100.IMG_2411.jpg

I feel a redemption coming on! Maybe get him a new rectifier for Father's Day, and get her going again.

Sweet ride! A friend of mine built one very similar to that a couple of years ago. Looks like a ton of fun.

does anyone have AlpineStars gloves? If so, are they leather? And how much can I expect them to break in? I ordered SP2 V2s in large, but they hurt like hell.. I'm hoping they will break in.. but I'm slowly giving up on that. I just ordered XLs, but I'm thinking I will probably have too much room in them. Hate being between sizes.

I have all a*, they break in some. You could try conditioning them real good and then wearing them around the house

That's kinda what I've been doing, I took them out on a ride last week and the knuckle sliders were digging into my finger bones when I was two-fingering the clutch. It was bad. Probably need to rotate my levers a bit though. And if I wear them for long I get indentations on my knuckles from the sliders. If the XLs are too big, I guess I'll just have to suck it up and try to break the larges in. I'm just not sure how much they will break in

tbh i think it just depends on the glove. either i get the knuckle grind with a pair of gloves or dont. ive never had it "break in" to the point where that doesnt happen anymore.

id just get a different glove

Of course I go into Cycle Gear to try on what little A* they have for test fit, and they all fit different. Some Larges are fucking tiny and I can't even get my hand in, while some aren't, etc.

yeah that happens too. last gloves i bought were joerocket supermoto but theyre really thick. they do have the thumb and finger i think though.

just got out the 690 on my way to physical therapy. so fun. its been so long since ive ridden it. but it goes back in the garage tonight cause 40% chance of rain tomorrow. also not riding knobbies in rain. fuck that.
