I was happy that I got 0.9% when I bought my 2018 two weeks ago!

This is why I bought my 18 instead of a left over 17. I wanted the new safety stuff, plus the 18 wasnt all that much more than a couple of available highly discounted 17s.

I get what you mean, but what I am saying is that they based production on previous sales and anticipated 2017 potential sales numbers. They wouldn’t produce an unreachable number of trucks... That’s just bad business.

Yet even though they “supposedly” have had a record year, there are still plenty of remaining trucks left. In my searches of years past (for the two 2nd gens I purchased), this was almost unimaginable to have the previous models left on the lot up into almost April. I believe they expected to sell more than actually were sold (which does make sense). If they had anticipated the proper amount of sales vs. production, you wouldn’t see so many left over if they in fact did have the highest record of sales ever as some suggest. I just don’t believe everything I read and the idea that Toyota is only flourishing to me is hard to believe.

The fact that the trucks are left over along with the increased (rate if not unheard of) incentives shows they are really trying to get rid of the remainders. If the trucks sold so well... Then why are so many still on lots with unbelievable deals. Just doesn’t make sense. It shows that they couldn’t sell them all. No doubting that fact.

Either way, if somebody wants a hell of a deal on a Taco... Buy a perfectly good 17 and save a bit of money!!! Hard to pass up some of these super low APR’s!

I can 100% guarantee you the TSS on my 18 Tundra did not save me a single penny off my insurance rate

That’s sucks. I would have guessed it would have helped on a new Taco. Maybe TSS isn’t valued by the insurance industry. Doesn’t really make sense since that’s the whole premise (to keep you and your truck safer). At least your truck is safer! :)

My insurance agent explained it simply “regardless of the safety feature of the vehicle, you still drive it”

Down in texas you're probably helping pay for all the submerged vehicles in Houston last year. In my area there is a break according to my agent.

This very well may be the case. Also the hail damaged from 2016 that was record setting. Wouldn’t surprise me one single bit.

I’m sorry, but.... LOL! What the hell kind of comment does an insurance person mean by that? Of course you are driving it. Lol. People crack me up.

    0% isn't a real thing.

You can bet you pay the 'lost interest' in the price of the truck.

If you want to know what you are really paying for a vehicle, you have to take 2 of their 3 shells off the table in the old 'find the pea' game.

Those are a trade in and dealer financing.

Frankly I was surprised that there have been so many 2017's left over. From what I have heard, Toyota never offers 0% on Tacomas. Did they just over-produce on 2017's? Besides the added safety features, I didn't see much different between 2017 and 2018.

That's what I did and Toyota Finance beat the rate I brought in.

When I was looking at Jeep Wranglers, the salesman said..."you could also get this special edition...it's only $30 more per month". I said to him "yeah, but it's 10k more than the model I'm interested in..10k is still 10k regardless of what I'm paying per month"

I think it’s based upon driving record and who’s on the policy cause I currently have a 17 OR and was thinking of upgrading to a cement 18 OR and my insurance policy would of gone down $15 a month
